Hello. My name is Barby Keel and I have run the Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary in the lush Sussex countryside for 47 years, with plenty of help along the way.
Every day I see sad cases of animals abused, dumped or abandoned at my doorstep, and I wanted to share some of the heartwarming tales of some of the most tragic, and most remarkable, of those creatures who have found their way to our special site.
I have published three books with Orion Publishing, The Street Dog Who Found a Home, Gabby: The Little Dog that had to Learn to Bark, and Will You Love Me? The Rescue Dog that Rescued Me, all as part of the Foster Tails series.
Our sanctuary, which is now a charity, is open every Sunday afternoon in summer, and we hold many fundraising events.
