Hello there, I'm Lachlan. I live in the north west of England on the edge of some of the most beautiful countryside there is. Areas such as the Lake District in Cumbria and Derbyshire's Peak District and of course I can't overlook my own county of Lancashire and it's attractions. Also with a little bit of planning and organisation Wales and Scotland, I'm half Scots so the slightest of excuses will find me journeying north of the Border.
Photography has long been an interest to me, I was introduced to it's magic by my late father, he who was the Scot and it has fascinated me ever since. I reached a certain level of ability and began to look for challenges that would help me develop my techniques further. So I began to submit material to magazines for publication. After some stumbles and plenty of mistakes, acceptances have started to rise. Travel around the UK is my main interest and as I use the railway system a lot, especially for the longer journeys, these are the main subjects I cover. As another outlet for material as I hate spending time on a photo shoot and then the images just lie on my PC's hard drive gathering digital dust I began to look into publishing my own photo books through Amazon. Again after a few stumbles a good friend walked me through the process and I am now building up a range of titles.
Another long term interest that has run alongside the photography has been writing, short stories, poetry are my two main interests there. I'm currently working on a first volume of short stories which hopefully will be ready soon.
