Patrick Nugent (1949-) was born in London of Irish parents. He was trained in graphic design, film-making and photography at art school in the 1960s (Goldsmiths). He joined the publishing industry in 1970 and has worked in it ever since as a designer and creative director. He was elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers in 1992. Passionate about the books he worked on and also the ones he read for pleasure, he took to writing fiction in recent years.
His first novel, the first in a sequence of conspiracy thrillers, is called 'Silent Hammers', and was published early in 2014. The follow up, called 'Hunter's Way', was published in November 2014, the third in the sequence, 'Bad Seed', was published in March 2015, and the fourth and final part of the quartet, 'Taken Cold', was published in April 2016.
