David Hosier MSc is a psychologist who has worked in education as a researcher, teacher and lecturer. He was educated at the University of London and holds two degrees (BSc Hons and MSc) and a post graduate diploma in education. All three qualifications are in psychology.
He was motivated to write his books due to his own experience of severe childhood trauma which led, in his adult life, to a very near fatal suicide attempt, several hospital admissions for clinical depression and anxiety, a three month spell as a remand prisoner in a Category B prison, electro-convulsive shock therapy (ECT) and homelessness.
His books contain articles, originally published on his website childhoodtraumarecovery.com, on the potentially devastating effects of childhood trauma, a range of therapies for such effects, some accounts of his own dramatic experiences, and some related topics in psychology.
He holds UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and his collection of academic achievements surpass those required for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
