S L Powell was born in Shetland. By the age of seven she had lived in Somerset, Norfolk, Dorset, Australia and Dumfries, and finally the Isle of Wight, where she stayed until she was grown up. Perhaps this explains why she's not a great fan of travelling. Later she lived on boats for nearly 13 years, but most of the time they stayed in the same place and didn't travel anywhere. At the moment she lives in a house in Oxford with her husband and daughter, and combines writing with working for Oxford University. There's more information on S L Powell's website at www.slpowell.co.uk.
'Visible Ink' is S L Powell's second book. Her first, 'Fifty Fifty', was shortlisted for the Oxfordshire Book Award 2012 and the Leeds Book Awards 2012.
