Mike Royden has taught History and Politics for over 30 years, and also lectures in Local History on Adult Education courses run by the University of Liverpool Centre for Continuing Education. His publications include 'Merseyside at War 1939-45', 'Tales from the 'Pool', 'Tracing Your Liverpool Ancestors', and Liverpool Then & Now'. His work has also appeared in a variety of history journals and magazines. He has designed and maintains several history websites, and has made regular appearances on TV and radio, including BBC's Heir Hunters and Who Do You Think You Are? Mike has also researched extensively into the history of the First World War and has led tours on the Battlefields of France and Flanders. He is on the committee of Everton FC Heritage Society and has written the booklet on 'The Fallen of Everton FC' detailing the players lost in both wars, and has also had several articles published in the matchday programme. He has two sons, Lewis, a photographer, and Liam, a musician (former lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for the well known Liverpool band Tiro Lark).
