I am a historian specializing in the history of Buddhist medicine. My academic research focuses on the introduction of Buddhist medical ideas to medieval China. Currently, I teach East Asian History, Chinese Religion & Philosophy, Buddhism, and History of Medicine at Abington College. I have a Ph.D. in History of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in East Asian Studies from University of Virginia.
I am also a practitioner and teacher of Traditional Thai Medicine. I am the author of many books for TTM clinicians, and have long been active in the introduction of Thai healing traditions to the U.S.
