Ann Victoria Roberts is the author of five historical novels, set mainly in the late 19thC and early 20th centuries. Her great-grandmother, a WW1 soldier, Bram Stoker and Titanic’s Captain Smith have each provided inspiration, while love in its many forms, and the effects of the past upon the present, are linking themes.
Her new novel, One Night Two Lives, is set in more modern times and is due to be published in Sept 2019. For Suzie, the past returns with a vengeance when an old flame turns up in her life. She loved him once, but can she forgive him for what he did that night?
Ann’s first novels, Louisa Elliott and Liam’s Story were international bestsellers, published in the UK by Chatto & Windus, and Avon in the US. In 2014, they were reissued independently in both print and ebook format.
They were followed by the chilling ghost story, Dagger Lane – set in countryside just north of York – and Moon Rising, where 1880s Whitby forms the backdrop to a gripping tale of passion and possession.
Born in York and married to a sea-captain, Ann travelled widely aboard merchant ships when their children were young. Life at sea features in three of her five novels, most notably in The Master’s Tale, based on the life of Captain EJ Smith of the Titanic. The novel received one of the Rubery Awards for independently-published books in 2012.
Ann is a member of both the Society of Authors, and The Alliance of Independent Authors, and now lives in Southampton UK.
