Ordered these as an alternative to some more expensive alternatives. 30cm is the perfect length for HDD SATA cables - anything longer even in an ATX case is too long and will cause cable management issues.

The cables are quite stiff, but the connectors are small and very secure. Recommended!

I needed some better fitting cables. The cheap push on ones that came with my motherboad were a poor fit, very loose and not very flexible. I found these cables on Amazon and they were cheap but had a locking mechanism. They came today and I fitted them. A very tight fit and the locking mechanism ensures there is no movement. A much better cable than those supplied, the locking mechinism is firm and the plastic ends are of much better quiality than those supplied with the board. A very good buy.

SATA leads may be thin and tidy in a PC but they can be prone to working lose. A lose lead caused an intermittent problem in my daughter's PC which would sometimes fail to boot or simply "die". Now I use locking SATA leads and lose leads are a thing of the past!
This 30cm lead is fairly short, so measure up before buying, but will save having loads of cable coiled up inside the PC blocking airflow/cooling.

I run three SSD's plus one HDD: all SATA3 devices. My cables, however, were SATA2 so I fitted one of these 6Gb/sec leads to each of the SSD's (I left the HDD with a SATA2 lead fitted). First comment is that they were difficult to fit, as they have to twist around the PC case (not the fault of the cables, more a Gigabyte motherboard design issue). Once fitted, they locked in place & were very secure. I did have a problem with one lead, but re-fitting it solved the issue. The leads are quite robustly made but fairly inflexible & they need a clear run from the drive to your motherboard.

I ran the Samsung SSD performance tool & noted that the figures had changed with the new leads fitted: Random Read had reduced by 50 IOPS; Random Write had increased by 1,100 IOPS; Sequential Read had increased from 330 to 522 MB/sec & Sequential Write increased from 233 to 342 MB/sec. In practise, access times are observably quicker, & multi-tasked data is processed faster. If you have gone to the expense of installing high-speed drives, it makes sense to fit appropriate cables to get the best performance possible from them. These cables do just that with my SSD's.

Definitely recommended.

What can I say - it is a good quality cable at a reasonable price, and it works as expected. I have not noticed any problems with it. It works just as good as one of those needlessly expensive cables costing several times the price of this.

These cables replaced the long original ones that had to be bent to fit in the case. SATA cables don't like to be bent. The old ones gave connection problems with drive not found frequently causing boot failure. This has not recurred since these short ones replaced them.

I got 4 of these to swap out the old "red" non-locking cables for my computer.

They work fine, nice sturdy mechanism on them, easy to unlock but secure when in place.

One problem I have, and it is down to me and not the cable, is that the 30cm is a little short for even my tower. I only have a mATX case but if I plugged the cable into the SATA port (bottom of motherboard) and into my BR drive (top of the case) it bent the SATA port up because the cable was strained.

My solution was to cable tie the cable to the one below it, and to move the BR Drive down a slot, and now I'm all good.

Error on my part, I thought 30cm would be long enough but it wasn't.

All in all, good product, recommended, just check they'll be long enough before you purchase.
