I have mounted it on a TV desk stand. Viewing angles side to side are hardly any different to IPS. Vertically they aren't so the screen is set at a height that brings the centre up to my eye level. I think they spec +/- 78 degrees in this direction. I wouldn't argue. The stand that it comes on wouldn't allow this. For normal use I don't think this would matter really but might. For adjusting photo's I suspect it would. I ordered the stand (ebay) at the same time as the monitor so have only used it like that. The stand also leaves room underneath the monitor for my speakers - the m-audio 2.1 system. It also leaves room for other bits and pieces. Good job. The monitor is the same width as my pc desk. It's huge.
Calibration was interesting. Like all it came way too bright. They always do these days to justify the contrast ratio. My brightness is now set at 26 giving 122cd/m^2. Contrast ration is now 3,000:1. Way way more than any ips panel I have used. Initial colour accuracy was pretty good as it comes with more variation in the grey scale. Calibration has sorted this out. Colour accuracy is excellent as is the grey scale apart from one colour patch in the bright white area showing a de of 1.5, that's still in the excellent range and the rest are well under 0.8. many much lower. Colour even better. I may be able to improve this. I use a utility called displayCAL and several runs are usually needed to achieve the best readings. The best white point so far is 6596K. That's fine really but I may be able to get it closer to 6500K. Very deep blacks are hotter at levels that wouldn't be easy to see and gamma tracking is also good with some errors in deep black again. sRGB coverage is over 99% just lacking a truly tiny portion of the extreme blues as most monitor do. Red and green exceed the sRGB colour space.
All in all if I compare calibration compared with an ultrasharp Dell I'd be inclined to say as good/better. I'd be inclined to say that the calibration as it comes was the equal of Dell's usual factory calibration except for greys but those were not that bad.
No signs of flicker and no signs of ghosting. I have set up to turn the screen off if it's unused for more than 20min now as a precaution. Prior to that I MAY have seen a very very slight reduction of the contrast on a photo popped up over the usual very white web page that had been displayed for something like 8 or more hours. Might have been imagining it though and very probably am. Possible ghosting is mentioned on some ips panels these days.
I don't see myself working on photo's that fill the 40" screen. There is obviously going to be a number of problem. The extra pixels in the height do allow larger images of photo's at their normal aspect ratio's though that don't usually fit that well into 16:9 HD screens. My last monitor was a 27" 2560x1440 and tended to get cluttered. Now I just have to click on things to bring them into focus and don't have to move them around as well. It's nice to be able to set any pdf page height so that it advances in pages rather than part pages. For some reason text appears to be sharper than my previous monitor. Not sure why. Could be that the software fits in better with the screens dpi.
Illumination over the screen is pretty even. Some fall off in the corners and more so on the right. I can see this via moving white squares around. It's only really apparent when I am looking for it and I would say other than for photo work irrelevant. I can read a web page or my email anywhere on the screen without really noticing anything sums it up really other than if looking very carefully. Fall off would be more noticeable on the right, last couple of inches especially in the top corner.
I use a Hauppauge WinTV stick for live tv it works perfectly with Win 10 ,
Streaming UHD 4K content requires Fibre broadband min 25 mb download speed
I have a single Gigabyte Gtx 1080ti Aorus graphics card and get 60 fps gaming This large size monitor makes gaming so very immersive and a real pleasure.
I wall mounted the monitor in a corner using a Intecbrackets ITB610B-200 cantilever swivel & tilt wall mount - the monitor weighs 12kg so it's not very heavy and it has a 200x200 Vesa Mounting Hole size
The screen has only a very mild anti glare coating so it does reflect a bit but if you position it correctly it is not an issue
Mine came perfect no faults all i had to do was make some minor adjustments to the brightness and colour and set the input to DP 1.2 easy to do with the remote supplied.

Update had it six months and no problems brilliant monitor definitely recommend
Otherwise would have been a very good monitor... Or if you only ever use 100% brightness..
A very bright screen. Tiny shadowing to left and right extreme edges.
Personal view. Brightness can be easily controlled and of little consequence.
Shadowing tiny and insignificant that doesn’t spoilt my enjoyment of this monitor.
Great work area for Animation. 3D in particular being my interest. Blender looks brilliant in this area of visual space and greatly benefits from it.
Colour and image quality is excellent. Text is crisp and clear. No issue with moving image. Not a gamer though, so can’t comment on that.
Works brilliantly with my Armari Magnetar Workstation running a AMD Radeon Pro Duo (2x16GB) graphics card. 4K through a Display Port a real treat on a monitor of this size.
I would definitely recommend this monitor for the price.
