Not as described - not Pi compatible

This product has just arrived, and I'm not even going to plug it in as it simply isn't suitable for running a model B Pi. Not as the image shows, and only outputs 600mA, so below the minimum spec of the Pi (700mA min, ideally 1.2A). Useless, a cheap phone charger they are palming off as something that it isn't. Not worth sending back either as the potage will cost more that it's worth.

Not enough power

Item arrived, plugged in the RPi and it worked. Great. After a few uses though, the RPi didn't always boot up, and seemed to struggle with some tasks. I then checked the specification on the power supply I had been sent and it says output 4.9V max 600mA. Now I believe the RPi needs 5v and at least 700mA, preferably 1A, so this supply is underpowered. Whether or not that is causing the problems I am seeing is irrelevant - this should not be sold as a RPi power supply.

I suspect that the seller just ships whatever supply they happen to have in stock, so you may be lucky enough to receive one with enough power, but as the varied reviews for this product show, it's pot luck what you get.

I'll be purchasing an alternative supply with a specified rating.

Does not work as a Raspberry Pi cable

Used this successfully for ~4 weeks with one blip that I'm guessing was a powercut (no further information available, unfortunately). Otherwise, run constantly.

Worth noting that the Raspberry Pi doesn't run hot after this time - I can barely feel any heat through the case. Assuming a correct power surge protection, I wouldn't have any issues running this 24/7 as a mini server (indeed, this is what I run it as).

Edit:
I started having some issues with my Raspberry Pi after the aforementioned one. It appears on examination that I've only been sent a 0.6A supply, which is causing my raspberry pi to crash when too much current is drawn. This has corrupted my SD Card. I recommend that people check the ampage on their products!

Edit2:
I contacted them about this and they offered to send me a free replacement but it never showed up and they have stopped responding. Not so great customer service. Downgrading review from 5 stars to 2 stars. :(

Insufficient power for Raspberry Pi

On ordering this product, I received a Factory FX that has a rated output of 1A at 5V. Although everything seemed to be working correctly, after actually setting my pi up to run for an extended period of time, I noticed that it stopped working for no apparent reason. Powering on and off fixed it but only for a short time. Checking the voltage over test points TP1 and TP2 showed 4.56V, which this web page: [...] indicates is insufficient. I think it is unfortunate that the vendor has seen fit to advertise this as being appropriate for a Raspberry Pi. I notice there are other reviews stating that the Factory FX power supply does not supply sufficient power.

Not really a rPi power supply !

This is more of charger device and the sellers may claim indemnity in that that they used those words in the title.

But Considering that the rPi doesn't have any batteries, a person buying this as such for the rPi will be using as a direct power supply. Which it is not designed to do. It has a very high ripple voltage under load which make the rPi unstable when it's doing some heavy duty processing.

If you do decide to used this. consider adding some additional smoothing filters close tot eh rPI.

False advertising. Waited ages for this to arrive in the post, only to find it is only capable of 600mA. This is NOT good enough for the Raspberry Pi, especially if you connect peripherals to the USB sockets. Steer WELL clear folks! Not even worth sending back due to postage costs. Straight from mailbox to bin!

The supplied units (I ordered 2) were only 600mA supplies, not really adequate for the job of powering a Raspberry Pi (according to RPi's specs), especially if anything is drawing power from the USB port. The result is a very unstable RPi (repeating keypresses, non-responsive mouse, frequent power-drops resulting in the unit rebooting itself).

To add insult to injury, you have to pay postage to return the item!

The power supply lasted about 20 minutes powering a Raspberry pi. I heard a click and now it's dead. I don't know why I have to type more than 20 words to submit a review, you don't need more than 20 words to say item is knackered. The item is no more, it is deceased, it is an ex-power supply, it has popped its mortal transformer coil.
