Over 25 years of robotics expertise and continuous innovation
An early pioneer in robotics, iRobot was founded in 1990 with the vision of making practical robots a reality. Today, we have sold over 20 million home robots worldwide, including the Roomba robot vacuum and the Braava family of mopping robots. But our technology isn’t just about robots. It’s about you – and finding better ways to help you get more done.
3-Stage Cleaning System and Dual Multi-Surface Brushes, for vacuum suction
Dirt and dust can't hide from the 3-Stage Cleaning System. It features a specially designed Edge-Sweeping Brush, Dual Multi-Surface Brushes, and vacuum suction. The Edge-Sweeping Brush sweeps debris from corners and edges into the cleaning path of the robot. Multi-Surface Brushes work together to lift dirt, dust, and hair from carpet fibers and hard floor surfaces, and the vacuum suctions dirt and debris directly into the bin.
Cleans debris from carpets and hard floors
The Auto-Adjust Cleaning Head automatically adapts its height to keep the Dual Multi-Surface Brushes in close contact with different floor surfaces, to effectively clean carpets, as well as hard floors.
Intelligently navigation, dirt detection and sweeps in corners and along edges
Intelligently navigates your home
iAdapt Navigation uses a suite of intelligent sensors that help the Roomba 671 make more than 60 decisions per second to adapt to your home's different rooms and help to thoroughly clean your floors, even in the dark. Cliff sensors keep it away from stairs and other drop-offs.
A dirt detective, working for you
The Roomba robot vacuum removes dirt from high-traffic spots of your house using Dirt Detect Technology. Sensors recognise concentrated areas of dirt and prompt the robot to clean them more thoroughly.
Sweeps in corners and along edges
Its Edge-Sweeping Brush is specially designed at a 27-degree angle to sweep debris away from edges and corners and into the path of the 3-Stage Cleaning System.
Clean floors from anywhere, anytime
Good for pet hair
Roomba’s 3-Stage Cleaning System removes pet hair from your floors. Pet hair, fine dust and debris are efficiently captured by the AeroVac filter.
"Isolate" the rooms and items you don't want Roomba to go to
The Dual Mode Virtual Wall is the perfect addition to your clean home. Virtual Wall Mode keeps Roomba in the rooms you want cleaned and out of the ones you don't. Halo Mode keeps Roomba away from items you want to protect.

I read some reviews, saw the price point of this Robotic Vacuum Cleaner as appealing and of the little I knew of this market, have heard of iRobot/ Roomba so felt comfortable in the purchase
I was quite pleased when I first used the robot; I placed it in the Kitchen, a lino floor, and was impressed with its cleaning ability; it was a tad random (more on this later), but it was my carpeted living room where it had issues. First off, the robot had real issues in actually getting into the living room; sometimes it detected the carpet, then turned around, other times it would edge in, hit the nearby bookshelf then turn around and head back in the kitchen. It did find its way into the Living Room eventually, but only after 30 min in my relatively small kitchen, which seem rather uneconomical. Once actually in the Living room, the robot starts to struggle on several fronts. We have a large carpet in the middle of the room, and the robot fond the edge then gave up, turned around and like a stroppy teenager to a strop back into the kitchen. After finding its way back into the Living room, it did finally find a spot it was happy to climb up onto the rug, but once it found its way off the other end the same problem reoccured. It also acted pretty stupid; it works around the corner of the living room fond the rug corner, attempted to mount it (unsuccessfully) turned around and cleaned the same part of the room 10 times, completely missing another corner that was assessable (rug not impeding its route) but simply didn't make it). After an hour of total cleaning, it (finally) made it back to the charging station, with half the living room untouched
So the first day, I was concerned. However, I placed this down to my rug; not shaggy, but it is a think underbelly that obviously the robot had issues with.
So I bought a new rug... thinner and smaller, I was sure the robot was sure to be pleased with my efforts. It was not; my mistake, unknown to me (because at no stage is this shown in the sale literature or manual) the robot doesn't like dark rugs. A black border was all it took, and the robot decided he wouldn't even bother attempting to get on top. The issues are the cliff edge detectors, a known issue, thinks the rug is a cliff so doesn't bother. The new rug basically created a barrier that stopped the robot reaching 3/4 of the living room. Despite my efforts, day 2 was worse than day one. The gripe I have here is Roomba knows of this issue, with a note on their FAQs noting you should consider changing your rug! On YouTube, it is evident that this issue has been prevalent for a long time, so surprised and disappointed they have never fixed it.
This may have all been resolved by a suitable app, with some features, but to my surprise the app was atrocious. It really is just a start/ stop button. I expected, especially for £500, some mapping or at least some additional functionality... but hardly anything. There is a timer (never tried), but that is about it.
After seeing the app, It started to realise that the logistics of the robot is pretty basic; it just runs around the rooms, bumping into everything in an erratic nature. I understand that it maps then cleans again, but it is very random. When it wants to go home, it struggles to find a route back and just seems to keep on going until it happens across the charging station. As noted above, the robot had real issues in getting through the doorway into the living room, and I place this down to bad mapping skills, and may be inadequate sensors (overly reliant on the bumper maybe)
So it is not for me for several reasons; I have decided to send it back and try a Neato, which gets better reviews and looks like it has a far better app.
However, before you dismiss out of hand, I should note that the Roomba was very good at collecting dirt, and despite (or maybe because of) its erratic mapping did cover all the kitchen area. On the areas it could get to in the living room, I was impressed with the results. I would say that on hard floors without rugs, and if your area is open plan it would probably be perfect
I will post a review of the Neato for comparison over the weekend if anyone is interested :-)
Grime, dust and dog hair get everywhere but nothing (except stairs) seems to phase Roovers.
While I agree it's not a full replacement for a "real" vacuum it gets 90% of the floors done and is surprisingly good at getting into corners and under cabinets / sofas.
After a few months with Roovers our house has never more consistently tidy. Worth every penny.
Easy to get going though I found the WiFi setup painful (took multiple attempts and then miraculously worked for no immediately obvious reason). Happily runs around, like a slightly excitable puppy. Remember to move loose cables and minimise things that will block it moving for best results.
I’d echo people here - despite have just vac’d it picked up quite a lot on its first run. Quite shocked me how much when I emptied it.
Have set it going remotely (on the train) so I’d go home to a freshly vac’d room, which worked well. I need to think about permanent location as it needs to be housed near a power socket for docking/charging with clearance room (as it manoeuvres itself to dock) but still somewhere it can do the job if used remotely (ideally)
Does seem to do a decent job
Can ‘climb’ some things (like a doormat) without getting stuck
Returns home when done if in the same room, charging itself
The app and ability to set it going remotely, and the link to Alexa (can we have a Siri link please)
No problems with dark floor surfaces, or indeed going light to dark
Build quality - especially like that it slows when it sense something tall ahead (me, a cupboard) though it tends to bang into lower profile barriers.
Simple to empty collection drawer
Gets stuck on some odd things
Moderately heavy and big, if you intend to carry it room to room, but nothing that anyone other than the most frail person could probably manage
App is idiosyncratic - ability to send Home via the app seems to have recently disappeared, ability to use remotely sometimes not there
Slow - 15 minutes for a smallish room
Quite noisy (but not terrible)
Needs ‘rescuing’ when it gets stuck - not so useful if being used remotely, though it does turn itself off if left
Sometimes takes ages to go home, sometimes struggles to dock itself
Price (but I’m expecting it to last longer than the cheap version I had before)
I was quite apprehensive about spending several hundred pound on a robot vacuum whilst already owning an expensive Dyson. Living with two cocker spaniel dogs and having a very busy household, I thought I'd make the investment. I'm staggered at the amount of hair and dust this unobtrusive machine picks up even after vacuuming manually.
Having to vacuum twice a day to keep on top of the dog hair became part of the daily routine, but since purchasing the Roomba 671 I can now start it with the simple to use App (which is available for IOS and Android devices) on my way home from work and the reasonably sized waste collector will be ready to empty when I get indoors.
My dogs are only ever downstairs and dont get access to the carpeted areas above. It is amazing how much dust the 671 retreived from my carpets which have been daily vacuumed manually.
The Roomba 671 come with a charging base which it will find its way back to when it has run low on battery power.
With regards to noise the 671 is suprisingly quiet compared to a traditional vacuum cleaner.
I think the app enabled Roomba 671 is a great machine at a very keen price point.
