- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 January 2021This was quite simple to get working, with the included USB/Serial adapter, and the pyserial package with Python 3, raspbian buster on an old pi 2b. Accuracy remains to be seen; I gather from research online that the reading is affected by humidity; and maybe there is some noise (variance) in the reading. I probably need to get a DHT22 or some such running with it.
The device itself is very quiet. I can just hear the embedded fan if I hold it close to my ear, and just about feel the air flow with a dampened finger. Much quieter than the little raspberry pi CPU fans I've bought in the past.
The device is for indoor use but I might try it outside, suitably enclosed & sheltered. There is a little inlet tube which I assume we can connect to a bit of plastic pipe through the side of a box.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 June 2020Easy to get working on the Raspberry Pi and simple to pull results to MQTT. I ended up buying two of these to compare results and then to test around the house ended up adding gas sensors to make a complete air quality monitor. Very accurate results and fast.
They demonstrated how little effect Air Purifiers had in a room with PM10 and PM2.5 results - So keeping these and sending the Air Purifiers back.

Data seems good when compared to my other air particle counter. It's very sensitive to humidity.
MatthewReviewed in the United States on 28 March 20234.0 out of 5 stars Functions, still testing accuracy, will update
I'm using this sensor via ESPHome and Homeassistant. Easy to configure and is working, see pic of output.
The values seem too low, at Particulate Matter <2.5µm Concentration': Sending state 0.70000 µg/m³ .
But, I do live in Idaho and the air here is super clean, so may be correct. Will update with further measurements made using a lab grade sensor.

Kein Problem mit dem esp32.
Jerry D HarrisonReviewed in the United States on 14 September 20205.0 out of 5 stars Very sensitive
I purchased this sensor a long time ago as I wanted to check my air quality in my home. It runs continuously so I was looking for a program that would take readings every 5 minutes and could not find one. There is a program on Github called Dust Viewer that works for this continuous monitoring. Since I could not find the software I put it away for a bit.
Just recently with Oregon having the big fires and bad air I pulled in out and hooked it up. Glad I did! The air quality in the house was bad. Fortunately we have a furnace with a HEPA filter and when we turned it on it IMMEDIATELY started lowering the count of 2.5 sized particles. We also had a humidifier that we taped some filter mask material over and that also did a great job of reducing the levels.
The sensor quickly reacted to the change and with the software I can keep track of what is happening. Seems expensive, but for what it does it is a great item
