Product Description

Whether you're using your SLR camera to shoot time-lapse photos, get up close with a macro lens, capture your daughter's winning goal from the sidelines, or snap images for the local newspaper, Flexipod SLR-ZOOM is the perfect companion for your next adventure. Throw one in your bag and start shooting like a pro! The Flexipod SLR-ZOOM is designed with the serious photographer in mind. Its sturdy prehensile legs help achieve a steady shot with your SLR and zoom lenses. It attaches to any standard SLR cameras, video cameras, or even your own tripod head. The Flexipod SLR-ZOOM can support a whopping 3KG (or six pounds in old money), while still maintaining its compact size. The Flexipod is the ideal camera accessory for photographers on the go. Throw it in your pocket or backpack and you'll be ready for your next adventure! While the Flexipod serves all the functions of a traditional camera tripod i.e. steadying your camera under low-light conditions, taking timed group shots, etc., it is the only tripod malleable enough to provide you with the perfect shot while wrapped around a tree branch, hanging from a pole, or perched on a jagged rock. The possibilities are endless!

I was going to get the more expensive Joby version of this product but I am absolutely delighted I opted for this instead. It is just as good but a lot cheaper. It also comes with a handy free spirit level although I haven't used this as yet.

It is a very flexible tripod and can be used in all different positions. The important thing as well as flexibility of course is stability and I would give it 10/10 here as well.

I have a Canon SLR which is fairly heavy, so I recommend getting this tripod as it can handle the weight of all bridge cameras and most SLRs as well. I have a zoom lens on mine and once again no problems.

All-in-all a nice bit of kit that does exactly what it says on the tin.

Seems to be a good alternative to the other competitors out there A very good item to have in your bag at all times and using the spirit level is also a good idea when setting up a shot with the flexipod or any other tripod for that matter.

I have a Sony A350 which was one of the camera acceptable for this Flexipod unfortunately it just buckled under the weight and for the life of me i could not get the tripod to stand up it just slowly colapsed, And im afraid it did not do what it is supposed to. It might be ok wrapped around a branch but i have not tried that so im afraid its just some more useless junk in my loft. However the company surplying the product named Iseekgadgets were extremely fast at delivering this product so i cannot fault them and would use them again.iBoutique Premium Flexipod SLR Zoom GP3 Flexible Tripod AND Hot Shoe Spirit Level For ALL Digital Cameras Up To 3KG. This is a very useful product and strong enough to take the weight of a heavy DSLR with a heavy lens attached. As always with supporting cameras on tripods you'll need to work out whether to attach the lens or the camera to the flexible tripod and either use a remote shutter release or use the camera's timer. If you just push the shutter you'll be lucky to get a clear image as the camera and lens will bounce with the reaction of your finger to the shutter. Not everyone knows that so useful to repeat it here. I rate this tripod as good as the better known product at half the price. To get a spirit level thrown in as well is a bonus. One star off as you need to keep the 3/8" adapter, which is supplied, screwed on to the 1/4" thread to stop that falling out. It would help if there was a captive washer to keep the 1/4" tripod screw in place.

Considering the price I am happy with my purchase. It just isn't quite perfect. First of all it won't quite support my 450D with Grip and Sigma 10-20. It will when it's got something to cling onto (railings, chair or wall etc) but when I try to free stand it on a table it kind of sinks. Secondly, I would prefer if it had some sort of a head. Once I get it well gripped to some railings it always seems to be off centre. Then when I try to get the camera level it makes the holder less secure. So possibly a ball head version would dramatically improve the design. Still don't let this put you off purchasing, it's still most certainly worth having in the bag at all times.

In summary I would recommend this item. Cheap, useful and fairly well made. It means you don't always have to have a big tripod with you. However I wouldn't say this would be sturdy enough for long exposures (over about 3 seconds), you're a lot better off with a proper tripod.

Purchased as my 'original' gorillapod lost its rigidity and so its abilty to hold the camera (500+gm) at any angle. This tripod is stiff and I concur with Peter Dalling review about no flexibility near the head. However I suspect that this will make the tripod longer lasting.

Works just as described in the specification. Easy to use and no concerns over the safety of the Camera when using the tripod. Actually did a set up from the ground with the camera at a steep angle to capture a group shot and camera was quite safe
