I very much enjoyed the second season of Hinterland when it was broadcast on BBC 4 recently. However, there were some aspects of it which I thought would be clarified by the first season which I missed when it was originally broadcast. So it was great to be able to view the first season on Amazon Video - I am halfway through as I write this - which is just as enjoyable as the second season with impressive performances from all the cast and Richard Harrington and Mali Harries in particular.

I read the reviews here. Superb story telling in this series (i'm not going to spoil the storyline here). I came to this program after 3 series of 'Line of Duty'; and it was a superb transition for me. Its been a decade since I last went to Wales to go climbing (and I had been there almost every year for the preceding 10 in row). Just seeing the scenery, has inspired me to make a return visit next month. Hopefully I don't see any murders! The welsh tourist board should give it an award. Absolutely fantastic tv show.

Enjoyed season 2 so much that I thought I would buy season 1 to get a little more background detail on the characters. Learned a little more which helped fill in some gaps. Loved both series, so fingers crossed there will a series 3.

We very much enjoyed Hinterland Series 1. The location filming was excellent and very atmospheric at times. If you think Vera - the detective series - you will get the idea. The acting was also convincing. The only negative was the difficulty (sometimes) of reading the English subtitles when Welsh was spoken.

Love this show. We don't see many whodunnits on tv anymore. London has its Sherlock, New York has its Kojak and Aberystwyth has its Tom Mathias, wonderfully bleak, mysterious and above all makes you feel warm and cold at the same time. Excellent acting by Richard Harrington and makes Ceredigion look like an amazing place to explore.
