This is a very gentle story of love and life, in which little happens and yet where lives are gently transformed by acts of kindness and tenderness. Morgan Freeman plays a writer who has sunk into a quiet alcoholism and has ceased to write or to take joy in life. He takes a summer house with a dog, and becomes acquainted with the three young girls and their mother who live next door.

The aquaintence blossoms into love and inspiration with very positive results for all concerned - there is plently of gentle humour, no threat, and a magical feel good factor.

The previous title of this film, The Magic of Belle Isle, seems more appropraite than its new tiltle- the island seems to have a gentle magical, healing quality, which has an almost instant effect on its residents.

A lovely film - slow, yes, but with a lingering glow

I originally saw this film heading eastwards on a long haul plane. It was called "The Magic of Belle Isle" then, and I watched it twice on that trip.

That was 2-3 years ago and I've been trying to get it on DVD since then, not knowing the title had been changed to "Once More".

The film is a total gem, beautifully acted, and with excellent photography. Nice inclusion of humour throughout. Just pure magic.

This film was an absolute delight and such a change from all the violent movies we seem to get these days. The storyline was unusual and so refreshing. The whole family were totally absorbed in this film and silence reigned during the showing of it, which is totally unusual in this home. Everyone was so absorbed in the story as it unfolded on the screen and it entertained all ages from teens to 70 year old viewers. Morgan Freeman is such an accomplished actor.

A typical Morgan Freeman film. The man is simply made for the big screen. Although there is very little in the way of a storyline, Freeman's acting abilities carries the film through and keeps the viewer interested until the very end. If you liked "Driving Miss Daisy" then you'll love this.
