Banshee's opening episode certainly sets the tone for the entire season; full on violence, sex and intrigue. Banshee doesn't require thought, and much like Starz 'Spartacus' it is one of those series that you can just sit back, enjoy and forget about everything. It's throwaway fun at its best.

Lucas Hood is a great character, written well and played perfectly by Antony Starr; you will see as he says he's not a nice guy but to his loved ones and friends, he's the most loyal person you could ask for. This offers a character that from the start we can get on board with. It's not just Lucas that offers intrigue; scene stealing Job (Hoon Lee) as a mean streets transvestite is just what the action needs to give a little genuis comic timing.

The series is not perfect, the plot is not mind-blowing and the sex is often comically overdone but for a popcorn series with characters you root for, action to match any expendables scene, and a sleek finish then this series of Revenge and Redemption is the perfect antidote

With plenty of bad language and sex along with lashings of violence, Banshee certainly deserves its 18 rating. Having said that, there's plenty of depth to all the characters which makes the series compulsive viewing.

If you're easily offended I would suggest finding something else to watch, otherwise prepare to enjoy a great show. Banshee was recommended to me by a number of people and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Great!!!

This is one of the best TV series I've seen in years, so felt compelled to let others know how good it is. Yes, there's plenty of sex violence, but the characters are richly defined and developed, the script is smart and witty, there's never a dull moment and, above all, it's gloriously entertaining. Highly recommended.

Brilliant. I downloaded it to watch on the plane. I can't wait to watch the rest on the way home. It's got more twists and turns than a mountain road lol
