How can one go wrong with Stephen King???? GREAT series. As a Sci Fi/thriller fan, I was not convinced in the beginning to watch this series. Well, within two weeks I had been through all four seasons and all I could think about at work all day was how soon I could get home to continue watching it.
Storyline, acting, suspense, romance, comedy, cliff hangers, sound, light and special effects. This series has it all.
Go for it.

A fourth season after all, after that spectacular previous finale which seemed terminal. Inspired, the creators have produced powerful new storylines and additional characters - William and Jennifer particularly making their presence felt. Some of the established cast also veer into totally unexpected directions.

For thirteen more episodes the Troubles continue to plague Haven - inhabitants perishing at an alarming rate, in ways most bizarre. It seems the problems will only cease if Audrey kills the man she loves. Nathan is prepared to make the sacrifice (residents rather keen that he should), but Audrey is convinced there must be another way....

Addicts will rightly ignore critics' scorn, the loopholes, contrivances. Here is a series which represents guilty pleasure, scriptwriters and cast all seemingly enjoying themselves as dangers multiply. Welcome more outrageous developments, especially on the mystical front. As ever, the special effects are great. Amongst incidental pleasures is the splendidly forthright elderly pathologist Gloria.

Commentaries. Many other bonuses. Some fans may feel a few marred by over-excitability and silliness (especially those hugs). Best by far are the thirteen features on those who work behind the scenes. Awesome skills are involved - even in the creation of a flower, it only seen on screen a moment or two.

Inevitably a shock ends the season, ensuring fans are eager for what comes next.

Having watched all of the Haven series, the "Horror" and excitement has dwindled away, the status of each character varies so much and the story lines have become so flimsy that the interest has gone, the series should have ended with the final episode of series 2, too much for too long

“One gets the impression that the makers had no idea of where the story was going” says one reviewer here. This reviewer agrees and it makes for glorious fun. This is comic book stuff and, like comic books, it’s made up as we go along. The inhabitants of Maine continue to fall like flies and there is the odd ordinary old murder here and there. Just how haven manages to keep itself a secret from the outside world is another one of those conundrums with which you should not really bother. Once you start picking at loose threads like that, the whole series falls apart. Never mind, it is just wonderful entertainment and roll on season 5

Entertaining, yes! But! One gets the impression that the makers had no idea of where the story was going... And we still don't know how or what... A fifth series should finally resolve everything. If it doesn't I'll just give up...
