A word of warning, Do not start watching this late at night when you have something to do the next day.
as by the time you have said ....."Ok just one more then" several times, searched high and low for that instrument you used to play in the school band with the good intention of becoming a master at it and searched Ebay for a cheap cello, violin or oboe, you may find that you are late for work.
I did the whole series in one unplanned night and had to call in late for work so that i could finish the last episode in peace.
Summed up what you have here is.
A brilliantly written series with characters you will find yourself genuinely caring about.
when played with decent speakers a soundtrack that will give you that warm fuzzy feeling whether you're into classical or not.
a fantastic and funny insight into a world that is rarely represented as it actually is.

I challenge you not to be inspired after watching this.

I've watched the entire 10 episodes of this series over 2 days. What an enjoyable, fun and entertaining way to spend approximately 4 hours. I particularly liked The Rehearsal, which epitomises the energy with which classical music is presented in this series. Where's the soundtrack MP3 album?

Gael Garcia Bernal Is adorable as the new young conductor, while Lola Kirke's character (Hailey) is the perfect focus for the series. It was great to see familiar faces too in the form of Malcolm McDowall and Bernadette Peters. I can't fault the casting or performances in any way.

Clear your calendar and prepare to give the series a go. Amazon, I hope you'll be telling us soon that a second season is on it ways.

This has great potential if it gets picked up. As a stand alone episode it feels 'careful' but I can see a lot of edginess if it goes into a full season and I would definately watch and recommend. First, the idea and industry is interesting and makes good use of the classic music. Second, the characters feel well shaped and greatly delivered by, third, the actors, which are top-quality, two of them coming straight out of nominated Oscar features. Good pilot, I hope it gets picked up and we can see more of this.

Bravo. Bravo, Encore !!!!!!!!!!
How can we possibly not have much more of this. I look forward to Season after Season. Just think how much wonderful music there is in the world upon which to draw. If only there was a way we could hear much more of the music. What about devoting one movie to one production although I guess problems might arise when we got to Wagner !
