A police detective who works on missing children cases is the main character here. His last case, is that of his superior officers niece going missing from her bedroom one night. The story leads you on with an imaginary friend at first which leaves you with a feeling of a supernatural disappearance. As the movie progresses, the detective starts to work with a clairvoyant and the imaginary friend who is actually a spirit to find the missing girl. The supernatural element is played up a little too much as if the story were a wig then this element would be a single hair that is easily lost.

The acting felt like they really couldn't be bothered with it and the script was a little disappointing. The plot felt quite good as a plot, but once it was filled out to create a story, the basic plot was the only good thing about this. There was so much more potential here, the movie wouldn't have even needed a large budget to make it good. With the script the actors had to work with though, I'm not surprised they felt wooden and that it wasn't worth the effort. This movie didn't leave me feeling entertained at all.

Could have had more stars, the lack of chemistry between the two characters (voight and the psychic) makes the acting come across as a bit wooden.. (possibly due to lack of bonding between the two actors off set?).. at any rate; it makes what could have been a slick movie, mediocre..

the plot itself is interesting and does keep you watching.. moody scene setting is good; sadly they don't make the most of every scene. other than that it is a good film to watch...

Once the best actor around, John Voight is as wooden as a tree trunk.. Doesn't move fast enough, his lines are as though reading from a script without any true emotion.. Plot is obvious and quickly put together to make a few bucks

This movie was watchable but the acting at times was poor. If you want a mediocre thriller with the usual twists then this is worth a watch but if you want something with more intellect and imagination look elsewhere. I also felt the actors lacked chemistry with one another and the plot was disjointed at times. Something to watch if you don't want to think too much.

Jon Voight is this films only redeeming feature, as a septuagenarian police detective approaching retirement. The rest of the acting is wooden but that may largely be due to the script. The dialogue is poor and the plot is confused. The supernatural element seems irrelevant.

it was an ok movie, didn't really grip me either from the start or middle

Terrible acting by all. A good idea gone to waste.
