Enjoyable series where maths academia meets up with the messy world of crime.

FBI agent Don Eppes asks his younger brother, Charlie, to help out on a tricky case the FBI are grappling with. Charlie is a young maths professor and resident genius. What happens next is that Charlie's application of mathematical methods are spectacularly successful in helping solve the case. And so he ends up becoming a permanent consultant to Don and his FBI office.

It's actually fun watching Charlie come up with maths stuff to catch the psychos and thieves.

Charlie is the brains. Don is the man of action. From time to time an interesting tension arises btweenn the two brothers. Watching the brothers deal with the ups and downs of their new professional relationship keeps the viewer hooked.

The background goings-on in the brothers' extended family also provides some light relief and provides some entertainment.

Here everything gets wrapped up for this, the final season. Now that it's all over, I was surprised at just how much I was going to miss this series. The science and maths was always accurate. And the family dynamics were always engrossing. Judd Hirsch played the father and was the family rock. A good series will always run its natural course but it's always a little sad when it's all over.

Sixteen more times Charlie's maths helps solve FBI brother Don's cases - serial killers, jewel thieves, gun runners, identity fraudsters, hackers all destined for jail (unless slain in shootouts).

For six seasons the series has been enhanced by inventive scripts, a charismatic cast, and the intriguing premise that maths holds the key to everything.

Fans should be happy with this affectionate farewell, everything ending on a high with new horizons opening for so many involved.

Bonuses include details of the revolutionary cameras, appreciation by the actresses for such strong roles (none of them here for decorative purposes). Best of all, there is a twenty five minute look back at the past six years - tears shed in plenty at the final party for cast and crew.

Why only four stars? Unfortunately from the very start I have been driven to near distraction by the intrusive music. It saturates, particularly resented when Charlie explains his theories. The quality of everything else has caused me to perservere regardless. Hopefully other viewers were not driven away.

The Eppes brothers will be missed, ditto their dad. What now for the always entertaining, enigmatic Larry - great insights achieved when so long living rough in the desert? Yes, there is no doubt much we would like to ask. It is good policy leaving us wanting more.

Thoroughly enjoyable. This is not a gritty, real-life cop show. The show is characterized by a general feel good atmosphere, which is in contrast to the crimes shown. The bad guys are often caught, except maybe for one or two episodes, with the help of one of Charlie's or Amita's formulas. There's some good acting, and some really interesting characters. This is lightweight, and fun.

What a shame this had to be the final season. Perhaps darker and more confusing than the previous seasons (we didn't guess the bad guy in quite so many episodes this time), it brought the story to a fitting end, although my children and I wanted more.

Great to find a programme that made Maths cool and interesting, even my daughter, a real Mathsphobic, was intrigued.

Although we initially found this series more by accident than design, we have been hooked throughout, very difficult with over 100 epeisodes, but not once were we bored and to hold the attention of teenagerrs is saying something! I am not really a "crime" fan but this was thought-provoking, humerous and generally more interesting than previous series, more personal. You really felt you knew these people and the dilemmas they faced in both their professional and personal lives - definitely think the family link between Alan, Don and Charlie enhanced this and made it special.

Would love to see another season, but perhaps they bowed out at the right time, on top. Definitely one to watch and keep!!!!

I have all the series of Numb3rs and enjoy seeing and re-seeing it. I enjoy the characters and the maths (even though the maths is often beyond me. Always get the bad guys. It was a shame the Numb3rs was cancelled.

It isn't Math!!
The word is Maths.
Short for Mathematics.
Aaaaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!
Apart from that, I like the show. Very clever.
Though not clever enough to use the correct English.
