When my daughter made me buy this I was dreading the idea of watching it. What could be worse that yet another annoing film about a superhero? And a dog - what kind of superhero could that be, other than lame?

This just goes to show how WRONG you can be in pre-judging a movie. This movie isn't deep (why should it be), but the script is hilarious, the characters are great and the overall effect is fantastic - it's a genuinely funny movie which you will want to watch with your family over and over again.

This film is worth buying just for the script!

Watched this with my husband and two sons - ages 4 & 8.

It got pretty much straight into the 'action', so my youngest (4) didn't have time to bored like he usually does.... which makes a change!

Great film, enjoyed by all.

My autistic son is going through a phase of watching dog movies and he loves this movie. After watching on prime I bought the DVD as have had to watch it often since then!!

It is usual Disney fare with a Villan (with physical disabilities- well done Disney continuing your dreadful discriminatory stereotypes ) who is experimenting in genetic engineering.
A hapless beagle, just fired from a job as a police dog gets involved in an accident giving him superpowers and get adopted by an ex policeman James Belushi and his son.
The Villan tries to get him back and also take over the city and lots of fun adventures occur.

Not one of my favourites but good clean family fun and my son loves this and we have watched it soooooooo many times!!

With films such as this, I tend to refer to my children's opinion as much as mine because it is of course a DVD I bought for them to watch (they are of infant and primary school age). We've had it for over a month and I measure its worth by the number of times they want to watch it - which I've long since lost count of! We have most of the 'inevitables' in our collection, from Toy Story through Monsters Inc, all the Shreks, Finding Nemo, both Ice Ages and many many more, and Underdog, while being slightly different in not being an animated film, has proved just as popular. It's a U certificate so there's no need to worry about any element of it that might not be suitable for a 5 year old. Children love animals of course, and this film combines a lovable dog with a sharp, funny script that adults will enjoy too (or should).

It looks to be a massive improvement on the original comic strip on which it is based, which I think was televised in the 1970s or thereabouts. For what I wanted it to do - to make my children laugh and keep them watching it repeatedly - it delivers the goods completely and while it's not a timeless classic in our DVD collection for kids, it's a worthy inclusion and I personally recommend it.

This is a perfect family film. Villains, Good guys (or dogs) and lots of talking animals. What more could you ask for in a family film?

The main character is a beautiful Beagle, who I just loved to see strutting around with his lovely little baggy face. As it's for families or children, it is only a short film, and not very heavy on story, but regardless it is very nice and a very positive film to watch. It helps to bring the family together, both on set, and at home.

This film provides good family entertainment for all dog lovers. It is well suited to children who love both super heroes and dogs. My grandson loves it as do I and it will be watched many times. Well worth the price.

I bought this simply because it was cheap and looked like harmless fun...and it is...BIG TIME FUN!

This modern, live action take of an apparently ancient American cartoon is an absolute scream. I suppose the idea is a little different... a superhero dog? But don't let that put you off. The characters, both human and animal are engaging, the script is snappy and the action is plentiful, exciting and brilliant.

I found a lot of the action was hilariously funny, and without any of that `keystone cop' type idiocy. The most endearing part of this film was that despite the fact that the main character is a beagle, the story brought out in me the range of emotions, and had me bouncing in my seat once or twice, one moment excited, and the next holding my breath in anticipation. The only thing I can't understand is why on earth hadn't I heard of this film before now?

Only the most boring, stuffiest of adults could possibly dislike this film, and the kids will love it.

This film should rate in your collection alongside such greats as `Antz', `The Incredibles', `Bee Movie', and `Carz'. Highly recommended.

I have to say, I wasn't that interested in buying this Dvd, but my 4 year old kept asking for it so I gave in and we watched it that evening.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by it, I have seen so many films with talking cats and dogs so didn't expect anything new but this was actually funny, its a great film and not just for the kids.
