- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 January 2021Size Name: 196ft+IR+Local LoopVerified PurchaseI had the requirement to change my existing HDMI extender setup (HDelity), due to poor performance and drop outs, causing intermittent frame blanking on the remote TV set. I had previously installed a link between my extension and the main lounge using a CAT5e cable routed externally of about 40m length (I only installed this at the time because I had a partial box of CAT5e cable available). Reading on the various claims from previously installed HDMI extenders they said they would work over CAT5e cable, but at a shorter distance that using CAT6 cable. In the end I became fed up with the poor performance of the existing ones I had tried. I was tempted to install a CAT6 cable, but was put off by the arduous route that I had to run it.
I therefore was scanning the products on Amazon to see if I could find a replacement extender. I looked at many, some over the £100 mark. Then I came across the PWAY unit at only £39.99, with all of the features I thought it was too good to be true. Any way I thought it was worth a try and bought the units.
I installed the transmitter unit in my extension, connected to the HDMI output on my HUMAX Freesat receiver (as photographed) and the bonus of having a HDMI splitter built into the unit plugged into my Samsung TV. At the remote end in the lounge I plugged in the receiver and because the devices support POE (power over ethernet), no PSU was required.
When I switched on the receiver in the lounge I immediately received a superb picture on the LG TV. I positioned the IT receiver and clicked on the HUMAX remote, worked perfectly.
The PWAY units have given me a rock steady performance since install nearly 2 weeks ago.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 November 2020Size Name: 165ftVerified PurchaseWorked out of the box after others failed.
So simple to setup.
Sky Box - HDMI - transmitter box which is plugged in - Cat6 Ethernet cable out other side of transmitter into wall.
At the other end which is about 10 metres away above my fireplace where the TV is mounted.
Cat6 Ethernet cable out of wall into receiver which needs no power - HDMI out of other side of receiver into TV.
Worked first time.
So its device to HDMI into transmitter. Ethernet from transmitter into wall socket (cat6 ethernet cables in the wall)
Ethernet from wall to receiver. HDMI from receiver into TV.
2 HDMI cables and 2 Cat6 ethernet needed.
The only thing to note is that this is 1080p only. The ethernet cables will not allow any better and it will not let me set up UHD on my TV, it tells me to plug the HDMI directly from Sky to my TV to do this. Which obviously I would if I could but then I wouldn't need this product....

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2020Size Name: 196ft+IR+Local LoopVerified PurchaseInstalled easily and worked first time. The power over Ethernet feature is brilliant, meaning you only need power at the sender end, not the receiver end. Rock solid picture that never once dropped out. However, after a day or so the remote IR sender stopped working. I reconnected everything and it worked again, but stopped after another day or so. It turns out that the 3.5" jack on the HDMI sender box for this wasn't getting a good connection and kept popping out ever so slightly. Try as I might, it wouldn't keep a good connection for very long. In the end I solved it by cutting a bit of the metal casing away to give better access. However, even with this necessity, this is a brilliant product for the price. Fully recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2024Size Name: 165ftVerified PurchaseI used this to extend my sky hd box (1080i) over 20m of external cat5e. Worked first time and no image our sound issues. Nice that you only need the power adapter at the transmitter end.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2022Size Name: 196ft+IR+Local LoopVerified PurchaseTransmitter appeared to function OK, including local pass through. Receiver Power light lit but STA light didn't for both short (1m) or long continuous lengths (up to 25m) of solid core high quality Cat5e.
Signal was HDMI 1080p from Sky Q box. Sound setting normal, not Dolby. Dialling Sky Q output down to 720p didn't help either. Substituting with 2m length of Cat 6 cable also failed.
Not convinced that PoE is practical for longer lengths of network cable. This is the second HDMI extender kit I've tried. Do suppliers test before despatch? Thank goodness for hassle free Amazon returns.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 September 2023Size Name: 165ftVerified PurchaseAfter running a 45m run of flat cable, all neat and clipped, i fired up the repeater and it did not work except a flicker every 10 seconds or so. I was livid and came onto amazon to 1 star it in anger when I saw a review mentioning flat cables.
Low and behold I used a thin, round and old Cat5e cable and it connected and worked. Save yourself a double install and only use round cable first time round :)
Picture quality is good and lag is unnoticeable. 10/10 for this item from me.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 January 2024Size Name: 165ftVerified PurchaseBought this product almost 2 years ago which served its function for sporadic uses where I wanted my office PC to display to my main TV. 2 points I should raise.
1) Picture quality / artefacts on screen for my run of cat6 < 50m (maybe theres some settings I could change to remove or reduced issues but haven't spent the time on it as its only a second screen).
2) Power Supply failed causing the power/status light to slowly flash on and off (3v when it should be 5v). A simple swap of another 5v power supply resolve this, so hopefully I'll see at least another 2 years of use?

Size Name: 196ft+IR+Local LoopVerified PurchaseUsed this to relay my security camera feed to a screen in another room. Works as intended (1080p) and easy to set up as long as the Cat cable has already been wired up behind the walls. Plug in the Cat cable (both units), the HDMI cables (both units) and the single power adapter on the transmitter end (none required on the receiver end) and ready to go. A nice feature is the HDMI out on the transmitter end so can plug in a monitor to see what's being sent to the transmitter unit (handy for troubleshooting). Another handy feature for troubleshooting is the light indicator to indicate if the unit is receiving a signal from the source. Couldn't test the IR as I didn't have anything to test with.
