I wasn't expecting a lot from this projector. I was just looking for something to project some past family photos at a special family barbecue but have been amazed at the quality.
To be fair this is not going to compete with projectors costing big money but it produces a really bright acceptable picture filling a 100 inch screen during the evening on our patio while the patio lights are on. In daylight as expected you would get nothing. I made the photographs into a video slide show and copied it onto a micro SD card which then fits into the projector so I only have to use a mains lead. The music I added is a little thin but this about value for money. The screen I use is a basic £12.00 rollup one hung on a garden wall and I fixed the projector inverted on the frame of out gazebo. The keystone adjustment means it projects down perfectly so does not get blocked by guest's heads.
To further test the projector I have tried feeding it from my MacBook Pro via HTMI and it works perfectly. It even allows me to project Amazon Prime films. Oddly it does not want to work on my 27" iMac. Maybe its the high screen resolution on the iMac but its odd that it works on the MacBook OK. I have also tried outputting the sound from the projector to my Bose portable speaker and its a vast improvement on the sound.
The package includes a jacking screw to change projection angle, a remote control, HTMI lead and a manual. The remote is a lot better than expected. It has minimal button controls but when used shows an on screen menu allowing input changes, volume adjustment, colour adjustment, picture size and all the usual video controls for fast forward, pause, etc. It also has the means to invert the picture and reverse it for back projection. The logic of how it works takes a little learning but nothing difficult. The manual is a multi language book and relies heavily on little graphics (magnifier needed for my old eyes). Again it took a little working out but nothing too difficult. One area where I had a minor problem was that to start with I could not get it to find the video files on the SD card. Then I found that the standard Mac suffix of m4v was not recognised. Simply changing the suffix to mp4 solved the problem. I then found a list of recognised suffixes in the manual.
I always try to relate quality to price paid and this device produced a quality far better than I expected for the Deal of the Day price of £55.00.
