So, I started watching this and thought blah, this is just like White Collar, but it had me gripped, the storylines we good (applause to the writers), although throughout I questioned casting choice, Ben (Peter Krause) was my least favorite actor but the character was good and we delivered it well although he came across rather ridged throughout. Mireille Enos was just sublime. Having seen her in the killing, I was blown away by her role and delivery of Alice Vaughan. I hope Kate, Helen, and Allen create another season, I feel like there are still places for this show to go without being repetitive or become dull and boring. I also loved Gina Torres in this too.
If you enjoy a good crime drama without being too bloodthirsty murder and sadistic characters, with suspense and sex and beautiful actors and actresses capable of delivering smart humor and an entertaining binge-worthy show this is for you too.
Looking forward to further seasons and seeing what happens to my favorite characters in future episodes, including Ben. Please please let there be more of this soon!
I enjoyed both seasons. Would have liked to see a season 3 to wrap things up. I love Rhys and Bens bromance and I would love to see them back together. John simm is fantastic as rhys. Tessa wasnt a very well thought out character aged at 15 when she should probably have been in her early 20s. Shes far too old fie a 15yr old and Thers a scene where m talks with cybil about getting rid of the child and m says "i was a child". The suggestion that m and ben were teenagers 15 yrs ago is rediculous when they are clearly both aged at about 45. Still. Its great fun to watch. Deliberately far fetched without being slap-stick. Shame that prime seems to specialise in cancelled shows now. I tried to cancel my membership but they just took a full year out. I'll cancel my card next time.
Enjoyed both seasons. Was looking forward to more series but it got cancelled. It was getting more interesting and would have liked to have seen it evolve more. John Simm was great as Rhys and his double act with Peter was hilarious. Nice bit of escapism. Silly casting was Philippa Coutlhard who at 25 years old played Tessa who was supposed to be 15 and she looked like she was in her 20s. As Peter Krause (Benjamin) is in his fifties and Sonya Walger (Margot) in her forties Tessa should have been older as Margot says she was only a child when she had her.
The actors knew their stuff, there were very few if at all continuity breaks and It was delightful to watch. I cant understand why it was cancelled. never mind But the second season is very well executed.
An enjoyable series with likeable characters and acted well. Shame this series was cancelled and Amazon took it upon themselves to present as new to prime leaving the audience without closure at the end of series 2. 5 stars for the series and one star for the demise of the series and Amazon offering audiences a series that went nowhere
