I got this in a pre-Christmas sale. It is a good upgrade from my old laptop - I'm very happy with it.

Note that the 1TB hard drive is a hybrid drive, it has a small amount of SSD built in. This has two effects; it speeds up small to medium sized file transfers, but unfortunately most hybrid drives use a lot more power than similar capacity HDDs. However, the battery life seems okay, better than my old laptop anyway.

The built-in graphics capabilities are just about good enough to play Skyrim on low settings, so not spectacular. On the other hand, it's not as bad as I expected Intel integrated graphics to be - they don't have a very good reputation. You won't be running modern games on this laptop but older ones will be fine. For example, I have found that most of my RPGs from 2007-2010 play very well on medium to high settings.

Notes and Quirks
The battery is built in, like most modern laptops. If you're upgrading from an old machine, this might be a shock.
Screen brightness is good and easy to control, even from within games. Colour and contrast are as expected.
Sound quality is okay (better than my old laptop) and easy to control.
There is no Caps Lock or Num Lock indicator light. Not a big issue for me.
The power key is part of the keyboard, situated at the top right. This is where I expect a DEL key to be... so to begin with, I hit it quite often. Fortunately, it does not turn the machine off with a single tap.
This laptop runs very cool, barely getting warm underneath even when running games. Of course, it's winter in the UK so the ambient temperature isn't high.
I have tried to install Linux Mint alongside Windows 10 and have had limited success. This machine uses the UEFI BIOS-replacement system. It is possible to turn UEFI off and boot the traditional way. I'm struggling to get Mint to be bootable when UEFI is active. I'm sure I'll read the appropriate help page soon enough and fix it. [Edit: Done! Press F2 on boot up to get into machine settings. Set a password in the Security section. You then get full control of the UEFI settings. Note that as of Jan 2016, this laptop does NOT have a Linux-friendly WiFi chip. Other than this it makes an excellent Linux machine.]

There are two things I didn't like, neither of which is a deal breaker;
First, the two vertical cursor keys (up and down) are squeezed into the size of one key; they are just less than half-height each. It's a pain. However, there is a perfectly serviceable set of cursor keys in the numeric keypad area, so I use those instead. With a bit of messing about, it's possible to remap the "5" numeric keypad key to be another "down" key, so you can have a full-sized inverted T cursor pad (with the tactile marker on the 5 key as a bonus). I don't use the numeric pad for data entry - your mileage may vary.
Second, this laptop comes with Windows 10 which is okay, except for the gaping privacy problems. It took me a couple of hours of going through settings, turning off all the "report XYZ activity back to Microsoft" and "Use your activity to improve Cortana/search/grammar checkers/...".
It also took a while to remove the bloatware that comes pre-installed by Acer and to convince Windows to default to the programs I want, not what Microsoft thinks I need. No such problems with Linux Mint.

TL;DR - It's very good.

Good product, build quality is fine and the for the specs you definitely get your moneys worth. I only have 2 problems.
Firstly is the large amount of advertising and trial programs that are pre-installed, but it is an acer machine so i was expecting it and fortunately they all can be uninstalled.
Second was the use of the words "A Full High-Definition panel" to describe the screen. Full HD to me means 1080p, however the screen on this is only a few pixels above 720p (native resolution is 1366 x 768). Not the biggest problem but i would have liked to have known what the native resolution of the screen was instead of just relying on my own interpretation of "full high definition".

Post edit: The screen is definitely the cheap part of this laptop, colours all seemed washed out even after I altered settings to get it to look better. plus the resolution has really gotten to me, my phone has a better display....
