Worth trying the Windows 8.1 version if you get it for a big discount on the Windows 10 one.
I got one and have upgraded it OK to the latest W10 and it works perfectly.

Key steps are below - if you don't understand them, this stick is not for you!
Update Bios
Do Windows 8.1 updates
Disable Write cache on SSD in Device Manager
Upgrade using USB stick with download of W10 32 bit created from MS W10 media creator
Keep nothing
Once upgraded, it will crash frequently - you need to disable SSD Write cache again
Update System > I2C Controller and reboot - this removes Device Manager errors and gets sound working

Excellent Buy if you can be bothered to persuade it to update to Win 10!

I spent loads of time trying unsuccessfully to update to Windows 10 (A whole frustrating weekend!!!). Was getting to 84% and then hanging each time.

A very kind person on HOTUKDEALS posted some instructions that helped me update successfully.

Here is what you need to do:

* Setup the stick with the supplied W8.1 (Basic New PC setup)
* Update the BIOS (Download ZIP file from the Lenovo Website, extract into a folder and run the update Application)
* Run all Windows 8.1 updates - this means reboot several times and keep checking till no more updates show. (Just over 100 updates in total)
* Disable Write Cache (Find the drive in Device Manager, right click it and click on the Policies tab. Un-select it from there)
* Open Device Manager and make sure everything is working.
* Select the "Update to W10" option from within W8.1 (this should have appeared on the task bar as part of the Windows updates above)

(NOTE: Before I updated, I disabled "Windows Defender" just to make sure it did not cause any issues.)

Once the update button is pressed, the PC will download the 2GB update file & then proceed to update the PC to Windows10 (Took a good while so please be patient)

After the update, I did a Disk-Clean and got rid of the previous versions of windows freeing up about 5 GB of disk space (leaving just over 19.5 GB free)

One small hiccup .. but smooth update to Windows 10 otherwise

Nice piece of kit. Some notes on the Windows 10 upgrade for now. I'll post more on my experience with the device after a period of use.

A combination of the approaches adopted by others took me through to the Windows 10 upgrade, so I'll do a quick recap:

* Setup the stick with the supplied "Windows 8.1 with Bing" OS.
* Update the BIOS
- Google for BIOS updates using the model number on the box.
- Download the BIOS update ZIP file (o27kt07a_151105.zip) from Lenovo's website
- extract the zip into a folder and run H2OFFT-W.exe
* Run all Windows 8.1 updates - the system will reboot automatically during updates. After an update go to Control Panel > Windows updates and check for updates again. (Some updates require a previous one to be installed, and will show up while checking for updates after the pre-requisite update has been installed). Do this and keep checking till no more updates show.
* Disable Write Cache (Device Manager > Policies tab. Un-tick option)

[ I attempted an update with the above and it froze at 32%. Pressed and held the power button till it powered off. Restarted. It went into recovery and restored to Windows 8. Windows Update showed error - "C1900101-30018 Windows Update ran into a problem" ]

* Went into Power Options and set it to High Performance
* Turned of Windows Defender - Control Panel > Windows Defender > Settings > Real Time Protection > Untick or turn off
* Selected - Upgrade to Windows 10. Allowed it to download the update. In the final step, before it starts the upgrade, turned of bluetooth and wifi.
* Clicked on the upgrade button. And as the device was restarting for the upgrade, removed the USB receiver for the wireless keyboard/mouse so it could go through the upgrade without being affected by any conflicts for drivers of attached peripherals.

Got the Welcome to Windows 10 after a while.

If you want a stick PC and can live with Windows 8.1, this is the best you can get

This is a fully fledged Windows 8.1 PC. Don't try to upgrade to Windows 10 though, it simply doesn't work, even after adding a 64Gb SD card. But Windows 8.1 works fine (I installed an app that gives you the old style start menu). I'm not a gamer so I can't answer for its abilities in that respect but you would be pretty foolish to expect a tiny thing like this to be capable of that. But when it comes to using Outlook Email, internet surfing, streaming video on YouTube, iplayer etc its just perfect. I run my Lenovo on a Samsung screen in the kitchen over wifi and with no buffering or issues whatsoever. All you need is a wireless keyboard and mouse but I use a Microsoft media keyboard that has the mousepad integrated, simply so I don't have to look for the mouse every time I use the system. The computer is on 24/7 and never gets hot. All in all an amazing device that really does give you full Windows processing for less than £100 - amazing.

I got this to make my TV smart and with windows 10 being offered on boot I thought what the heck and went for it.

Windows 10 had some issues at first finding the correct intel drivers but after a few restarts and updates it works amazingly well for such a tiny device.

It's quick to boot, fast on the web and great for streaming online content. Needs a second USB port but apart from that a great way to get a computer on any TV.

AVOID! This product is not and never has been Windows 10 compatible. Lenovo technical support have confirmed this over the telephone. There is, what appears to be the same product sold with Windows 10 pre-installed - they informed me this device has a different BIOS system and motherboard.

Don't be fooled.

If your happy with Windows 8.1 then go for it. If you are looking for a Windows 10 upgrade then look elsewhere. The Intel Compute Stick seems to be a good alternative.
