Hot, hot, hot!

It can malfunction (just search Sandisk ultra fit too hot) which is a pain to deal with and may result in at least partial if not complete loss of all files.

I'm not a hardware expert at all (uneducated guesswork incoming) but it seems like the computer is trying to ask the USB flash drive something, as if the PC has sent a little inspector to USB town to find out where everyone lives: this little guy goes up and down the streets of USB town knocking on doors and taking notes so the PC knows the locations of all the streets and houses in USB town.

He visits all the houses in USB town in the blink of an eye and everything goes well until he comes to a house where the lights are on but no one is home. So he knocks. No answer. He knocks again. Still no answer. He keeps knocking and knocking trying to find out who lives here which causes a lot of electricity to be pointlessly sent to the USB device causing it to heat up to skin burning temperatures very fast (which is very bad if it's plugged directly into a USB slot, not so bad if its on a USB extension cable as that's easier to replace). As the heat engulfs USB town like a sudden super volcano just erupted from the house the inspector was stuck at and the nearby houses seem to malfunction to causing the problem to spread. Attempts to use File Explorer and file transfers will fail as USB town becomes unresponsive.

A quick format followed by a more thorough format seems to return things to normal working order and I managed to slap my 40GB of music back onto it without further issues but as the device is a ticking time bomb I'm hesitant to leave it plugged into anything unsupervised. Even at the end of a USB extension cable to prevent heat damage to USB sockets the continous power draw may be damaging to devices like my TV and Xbox.

As a Chromebook user I needed a bit more space than provided as standard on my HP Chromebook 14-x000na (NVIDIA Tegra K1, 2 GB RAM, Chrome OS) but I wanted a drive that was compact but tough and that could be easily swapped from device to device.

This little USB 3.0 drive slips neatly into one of the slots on the side of the Chromebook. It projects out a little more from the laptop side than some rivals I have seen but only by a millimetre or so. Indeed, this may be a feature more than a fault as it does have a easy to grip lip to it making it easy to extract, a boon perhaps when fiddling to get it out from the side of a hidden or recessed device. The unusual design, although attractive, does mean that it is more liable to snag when used with a bag or slipcase.

As you would expect with a well known make like SanDisk the device performs flawlessly and I have had no read/write errors from it yet after several weeks of daily use. It is tough and robust and has survived all the daily knocks and bangs of laptop use. I say this having had other similar devices crack, break or otherwise fail on me.

This is a great buy and I am happy to recommended it.

Nice small and compact but has a few problems.

Great pendrive but I did have a few problems:

Pros:
1) Very small, can fit anywhere you need it to fit.
2) Very good speeds when benchamrked (Pic attached)
3) Small videos being copied onto it usually transfer at about 80 MB/s though

Cons:
1) Runs very hot while copying large files. I wouldn't reccommend touching it.
2) When copying big file sizes such as multiple videos/movies, it fluctuates a bit going from 80 MB/s to 20 MB/s

All in all, it's a good pendrive for the price with minor complaints

Small but mighty!

The Ultra Fit is part of the SanDisk "plug and stay" range, the idea being that these devices can be used to expand on often low internal storage on the new breed of tablets / netbooks / Chromebooks.

Size-wise it's ideal for this purpose, being just a USB connector and a plastic end, although it does stick out a few millimetres when inserted. Being SanDisk the build quality is great and despite it's diminutive size it feels premium with the contoured plastic end being shaped to aid removal. There is also a tiny hole where a mini lanyard could be fitted if really needed.

This drive has been used as additional storage for an Android phone via a USB-to-go cable to watch films while on a flight and the compatibility and performance was flawless. It now lives permanently connected to the USB 3 port on a Toshiba Chromebook 2 as additional storage.

The only negative is due to it's size, it's easy to lose!

Love these styles of Flash drives, keeps my key hand nice and compact yet it has a large storage capacity so much so people seem to think that it's only a couple of GB's and seem surprised when I tell them it's in fact 64
The black plastic on the end makes for easy removal and contains a small hole to loop a lanyard through which you'll need to add if you want to want to keep track of it, yet annoyingly they don't provide one and as these lanyards are very cheap companies take forever to deliver them and there on available in large quantities.
The speed is great, there's a noticeable difference between this and any 2.0 flash drives I've owned and it outshines all the other 3.0 I have that are the same style.
The plastic cover makes a nice touch to stop moisture and dust etc. Getting in and prevents the metal bending. The only downside is it's inevitable that I will lose it there's no way to attach it to the plugged in drive so you rely on trying to put it in a safe product and praying it doesn't fall out
