The app for these bulbs doesn't work with iOS 13 onwards. Contacted Elgato who said: "Our Avea products have been end-of-life for quite some time now. Hence the Avea app won't be updated any longer, i.e. isn't supported under iOS 13, unfortunately."
I owned my Avea bulbs for less than 2 years and they would work perfectly well if Elgato could be bothered to maintain the software for their 'older' products.
Now my options are:
- keep an old iPhone at iOS 12.4.1 so I can control my lightbulbs
- spend more money to replace bulbs that aren't broken but can't be used because of out of date software
