We purchased this DVD on the strength of the actors. If they top your list of favourites then the film is worth watching if for no other reason than to see them practice their art with considerable ability. Storyline plausible but sound-bite script and direction poor. Will watch the DVD again in order to attempt to divine the reasons for some of the scenes.

Uninspiring characters, a dull concept, a bad script and performances all combine to make me want to kill myself after watching this. With all the great scripts floating about out there, it is truly hard for me to understand why this film was made. I had to leave a review as this film was rocking four stars - which is really misleading. I just wanted to save people the mind numbing experience of watching this film.

I wasn't too impressed, it was fine but not great. I do like both Emily Blunt and Colin Firth normally but it was not really believable at all and I neither liked the clothes that Mr Firth wore in the film or the fact that he was supposed to be American, or the character that Miss Blunt portrayed. There are so many better films that they have both been in: 'Kingsman' for Mr Firth recently and for a cooky character for Emily Blunt, 'Wild Target' to mention just one, older film.

A bit of a "Marmite" film , if you have a sensitive nature and can understand what it's like to have an unfulfilled life and desperately want to change it but you don't know how you'll probably like this film. It follows the faked suicide of Arthur and his meeting Mike (Emily Blunt) causing them to form a tentative relationship that proves to be symbiotic, apart from that nothing much happens but it's a strangely tender tale that I thought was well acted and poignant.

Considering this film has two established actors (Colin Firth & Emily Blunt) in the lead roles, I thought this would be an enjoyable watch. How wrong was I - it was just an odd story for two such high profile actors. I've always enjoyed the other films of these two actors, but this really was a let down! As a consequence, I only watched half of it before turning it off! It was a complete waste of money and I've now sold it on to one of those DVD purchasing sites. A BIG disappointment!

I cannot believe Colin Firth signed up for this rubbish. If you are his fan, this might change after this movie. Stupid plot, hard to believe scenes, not funny at all, and it ends absolutely nowhere. The preview looks good, but do not get fooled by it.

OOH how strange was this film, I love Emily Blunt and Colin Firth but it was so weired to have them both talking in American accents. I know being actors it's all part of their jobs to be diverse. Found the storyline medioca, but well acted as you'd expect from this pair.

Hard to get my head round certain scenes, Didnt sit too well watching Colin Firth so out of character. But saying that its nice he isnt always depicted as the stereo type english gent in everything he does,.

As you can tell cant make up my mind. Love both actors but not too sure of film. .. . . You simply have to decide for yourselves. . . each to his/her own!!
