I love my new Asus chromebook
I have already had 2 chromebooks.I find the 11.6 inch is a little tto small.This is better plis the touchpad is much morerespsonsive and pressing the keys is easier and smoother.I am really happy with it.It looks very smart too.

Having this laptop for a little while now has secured it as something I could certainly recommend, it isn't perfect, but at something like £120, it's the cheapest laptop I've ever purchased by a factor of 4 and in most regards - the best!

Pros
- Battery life is eternal- occasionally you'll open it to use it and see the battery bar has a slither of red in it, on mousing over, 5% battery is enough to watch netflix over wifi while I cook and then eat
- Keyboard- got used to it in moments, shortcut keys are great, not too small
- Track-pad- after some irritation at not being able to double tap and drag, I found there is a setting to switch this feature on -decent trackpad
- Build- light but not too flimsy
- Size- ideal for most light usage
- Screen!- you can switch the screen off to save further power by putting the brightness down to lowest setting, then pressing again, any keyboard activity wakes the screen up

Cons
- Click button under the track-pad (it's not visible, but the track pad clicks at the bottom) got a little stiff after a couple of months of usage, still works, but I've gotten used to tapping the pad to click
- Tick-over sound- I hadn't noticed until I moved to the country-side that the circuitry that controls the standby LED let's out a really high-pitched squeal. I now stow the laptop where I can't hear it when I'm trying to sleep
- Software support, every now and then, you'll find there's something that you can't do with it, generally, I've not struggled (was able to load skype on as android apk). At this moment there doesn't appear to be any way of controlling an amazon ec2 linux instance from it... Looks like I'm going to have to make an SFTP extension if I want to use it to edit text

Overall - it gets 90% from me. Wouldn't own another windows laptop. For the price, you will be ecstatic!

I have had two of these so far, and both have experienced the same issues with the trackpad failing. I would really recommend looking elsewhere for chromebooks. The good news is ChromeOS is great, quick to boot and runs smoothly, however the hardware has failed me in this case.

It took me sometime to get it to connect to my internet, in fact my techy daughter had to come and do it for me and she had to take it home in the end to get it to work.
I had somehow thought it was bigger than it is. The M doesn't work to well, I have to concentrate when writing. I could be bothered to go through all the palava to send it back. It's good for a back up to my laptop which I thought was dying and didn't.

Product arrived on time and well packaged. The quality is what one expects of Asus (solid keyboard and solid hinge) and did not disappoint. Battery lasts very long. For the price point, don't expect retina quality monitor, but suffice to say it is of high quality. It is light, my perception a tad heavier than Macbook air, but otherwise a none issue. The clam cover and the keyboard surface area somehow tend to attract fingerprints marks. A quick wipe with a dry cloth easily remove the marks, but should not happen in the first place. As for the PC itself, able to stream videos without lagging. Chromebooks has some quirks with the way it operates, so invest about an hour through the tutorial at the start. eg it took me sometime to setup the printer. Very happy with the purchase as an extra laptop for the lounge room for anyone to use.

had this a week now - and so far it is brilliant. I am not a "techie" so can't comment on the spec, compare chromebooks to other laptops etc. I have an old PC with Windows XP that seems to be getting slower by the day so I was thinking about getting a more up to date PC. Reviews indicate that chromebooks are much more limited than PCs/laptops. Once I was clear that all I really did on the PC was emailing, web browsing, some banking and the odd word document/letter then the chromebook came into consideration. My daughter has had an 11 inch chromebook for almost 2 years and it is as fast now as it was when I got it for her. I borrowed/shared her chromebook for a week and was sold on the idea! At £160 brand new and with the bigger screen I see this chromebook as a bargain. Daughter also has a new apple mac - and no this is not as good, but is £600+ cheaper :)

I bought two Asus C-300, one for wife. Both developed similar serious faults, not long after warranty expired. Connection between computer and screen seems to be the problem, resulting in flashes, lines, split screen, crashing. Mine became unusable, wife struggling on with hers but I suspect the problems are terminal. Very unsatisfactory to say the least because of poor construction. I replaced mine with an Acer Chromebook 11.6 inch screen. This has a much more robust construction with an aluminium lid and strong hinges. It feels much more solid and so far is certainly superior to the Asus.
