Edited April 2016 - I have upgraded this review from like to love as I have twice now found myself having been saved from injury by using these gloves. First time was recently when slicing an onion where I would certainly have sliced a lump out of my left thumb had I not been wearing one on my left hand. The second time was this week when I was using, for the first time, one of those potato peeler type peelers that shred carrots (and other things) into 'julienne' sized pieces. Neither slip resulted in damage to the gloves.

Feels weird to put gloves on to slice onions but using one of the hand held slicers (mandolin?) to speed up the process always comes with the fear that you will add one slice too many, a piece of yourself! These fit me well. They are not baggy or tight so they are not cumbersome to use. I didn't deliberately try to slice myself so I have to trust that they will do the job if I ever make that mistake but they certainly add to the feeling of being a lot safer when wearing them. My eyes are not what they once were so these are a good investment for me.
