Porter (Sean Astin) is patient zero in quarantine at a CDC facility on some tropical island. He has a natural immunity to the virus. He is there against his will and will do anything to go back to the Shire. Meanwhile Marcus (Mitch Ryan) is going to marry into money with Kate (Claudette Lali). Marcus' wild brother Josh (Brando Eaton) has devised a "bachelor party" which consists of those two, a friend (Ryan Donowho) and Josh's girlfriend Penny (Jillian Murray), a former conquest of Marcus unknown to Josh. They are to take a large boat and go to a deserted island to drink, smoke, and snorkel.

It isn't rocket science to figure out that they make it to the quarantined island and have virus issues.

Sean Astin took his role seriously. The overall plot was unfortunate. There were gross containment rule violations that didn't make sense. The overall plot was weak as were the characters. The highlight of the film comes at the end with the ugliest cat fight in the history of cinema.

Worth a rental.

Parental Guide: F-bombs, sex, brief nudity (Jillian Murray and not supermodel Lydia Hearst)

Much better than Cabin Fever 2, Cabin Fever 3 is the prequel to the first Cabin Fever which is by far the best of the three.

The story is much better than cabin fever 2, plus the deaths are much more gory and nasty, plus the acting was very good and you did want them to survive.

The story is about a flesh eating virus and with four friends who head to a small island for a stag weekend, of beer and drugs, but within the first twenty minutes one of them becomes infected, so one by one they become ill. There are some great effects with flesh and blood flying everywhere, plus I enjoyed the ending it was very clever.

The big negative was the picture quality on the blu-ray release, it was not very good. But the film itself surprised me, a very good film and well worth a watch.

Unlike many reviewers before me, I actually like CF1 and 2, both in my opinion tapping into the black comedy splatterfest ethos of the likes of Braindead and others of that era (although I'm not elevating them to that kind of status), and perhaps Piranha if you're more familiar with this century's output. CF2 seems to be particularly maligned by a good portion of those that have seen it, so I thought I'd give this one a go considering it seems to split audiences in the same way. The plot doesn't need outlining in detail: a research facility on a remote island runs into problems containing the flesh-eating virus (of the earlier movies) that they're attempting to find a cure to. A bunch of dumb partying teens ('natch) go out to the island (i.e. they won't get a mobile signal) for a stag party only to find themselves dropping victim to the virus one by one (a development that some viewers may be thankful for...). Has potential perhaps.

From the outset of putting the third outing into your disc tray it's fairly clear that the black comedy madness of the first two films has been almost entirely eschewed by virtual newbie film-makers Andrews and Wall in favour of what they probably believe is a grittier, nasty affair. My favourite character (the cop) is also lamentably absent. Sam the hobbit shows up to give it all a bit of credibility, but the teens themselves are unable to give this cash-in anything convincing, as they just appear to be aping the performances of every other dumb-teen actor that you've seen in horror films over the last twenty years or so (unless that's how all American teens naturally are, in which case I forgive them), and the script is just as clichéd (I'm trying to remember some examples but the experience is mercifully fading from my mind).

I agree with a lot of 'D. Krol "deano76', review, but want to add a few additional points, if you are a horror fan and you have seen the trailer for cabin fever 3, ignore it, whoever created that trailer should be sacked, it really does not do the film justice, and ignore the sample sleeve's noted on amazon for the blu and dvd, in particular the 15 rating, this has been confirmed as an 18 and believe me, it deserves it, there is some strong gore and it's all old school practical effects, if you are a horror fan, or a fan of the original cabin fever you have to watch this, believe me, you will not be disappointed.

Gory horror film, one of the better films I have seen. If you have a sensitive stomach then this might not be the film for you as there is a lot of blood/gore throughout. If you love all things gory then this is the ideal film for you to try, you will not be disappointed.

Thought this film was a waste of time and a waste of money to be honest. Not scary at all, boring story. It just felt like a same old rubbish horror I have seen before. Not sure what else to say really, would not recommend to any horror fans as it was just bland and it felt like it was just released for the money.

Movie was o.k. but could be much better if was not so boring with the storyline and in this day of ages today's way too much of sex scenes in the movie but horror effect's is very good to horror fans o.k.
