For a series written by someone who isn't the greatest writer and more importantly doesn't seem to have read the book this isn't a bad series.
If you don't mind that it doesn't really fit with the series it's supposed to follow and that some of the characters have new histories to explain their odd behaviour (and to add to the drama) then this is worth a watch.
Like a lot of fan fiction, this is a good story that would have been better with original characters rather than trying to shoehorn in existing ones.
The parts were well cast and well played, with a couple of familiar faces including a Dr's companion, and make more than make up for the plot holes and feeling of disconnection that come from this being a supposed sequel.

Thoroughly enjoyed good period drama. Not as exquisite as an original Austen, but very well done, and including characters from Pride and Prejudice that we are familiar with and fond of. This is a period who-done-it, in which Wickham is a suspected murderer and time will tell what really happened. . .

Loved this film not only because of the brilliant story and performances, but also because it continues the story of Pride and Prejudice, we get a glimpse into the lives of Lizzie and Darcy, and Mr and Mrs Bennett, Lydia and Wickham. Lizzie and Darcy's tranquil life at Pemberly Hall is disrupted by a murder, which throws everything into turmoil, including Lizzie and Darcy's marriage.

The only good thing was the location and cinematography. Completely miscast which became painful to watch as the series went on. Elizabeth Bennet, one of the most beloved and vivacious heroines in English fiction played by a dull and faded actress whose wardrobe choices were a real disaster. She wears two plain dresses the whole time and the thought that she captured the heart of a rich and powerful man seems a remote possibility. a real let down.

For Austen adaptation addicts, its wonderful to have some new material, even if it is clearly not the subtly or skill of Austen's writing. I enjoyed it and shall probably watch again when next confined to my sofa with a hangover!

Pride and Prejudice has been a favourite since I study it in my teens. This TV series is on par with the Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle version......and I never thought I would say that!

Matthew Rhys was excellent. I never thought anyone could do Darcy like Colin Firth .... but not so. He was brilliant. The entire cast was excellent by Rhys really owned it.

Anyone into Austin will enjoy this. Well cast and interesting plot line. I don't want to spoil the plot but some motives seem a little unbelievable.
