I love reading David Walliams books to my children, they remind me alot of Roald Dahl's work which I loved as a child. Mr Stink was the first one we read and one of our favourites so I was excited to see this adaption which was on over christmas last year. The plot follows a twelve year old girl called Chloe who meets a really smelly tramp called Mr Stink and tells how they both help each other, the cast did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life, particularly Hugh Bonneville who played Mr Stink himself and David Walliams the author of the book who plays the Prime Minister. I wondered if this would ever come to Dvd so I am very pleased to be Pre-ordering it, if you want something funny to watch with the kids then I highly recommend this.

This film really brought back memories from childhood in the 80s of these type of beautifully made films for young people (box of delights, seven dials, worzel gummidge). It had some characters such as the obsessive mother and the Mr Stink character brilliantly acted and moved effortlessly from the comical to melancholic. Brilliant film.

Lovely adaptation of the book.My 9 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter have watch this a few times already. Doubtless it will get watched some more. I'm pleased we read the book first though as I think you get more from a film when you've read the book first.

A simple story about relationships and how a helping hand can turn lives around.
It may be a children's story, but it is one most adults would find helpful.

A brilliant feel-good film. Nell Free's performance was utterly exceptional. One to watch over and over again, not too long not too short.

Well I think that the BBC 2012 Christmas comedy festive tale of Mr Stink is brilliant because other reviewers have written positive comments such as it is a brilliant feel-good film, it is one to watch over and over again, although it is not too long but not too short at the same time. But of course, this comedy festive tale brings back the adaptation of the writer who is called Roald Dahl. I'm sure that you can find out more about him on the internet, but that is my interesting point to put forward to you folks.
Anyway, this particular comedy children's festive tale was last seen on BBC One and on BBC One HD on Sunday 23rd December at 6:30pm last Christmas (2012). From my point of view the film is fantastic. Not only it delivers comedy, the cast did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life. So then, I'll move onto characters. Firstly, the character of Mr Stink or his preferred name Lord Darlington is played by ITV One Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville. Next, Dad or Mr Crumb is played by Lancashire comedian Johnny Vegas. Mum or Mrs Caroline Crumb is played by North Lincolnshire actress Sheridan Smith. She has appeared with Alan Davies in the recent Jonathan Creek stories and she has appeared as a guest star in the Royle Family. Also, the actor Steve Pemberton who you may know from the League of Gentlemen and the movie executive from Horrible Histories plays a character called Mr Derek Dimble. I think that his character reminds me of David Dimbleby from the BBC political programme of Question Time but that's my opinion. Going further down the cast list, there is an animal which is called the Duchess. What an odd name! The character of the shopkeeper Raj is brilliantly played by the Indian actor called Harish Patel because he is humble and kind person.
