I would like to clear some things up about the confusion over this product;

There are two dvd's that share a similar name and has the same customer reviews, however they are completely different products.

One is a collection of four episodes (with a very misleading title) - "Batman - the Animated Series: Volume 3 - Out of the Shadows [DVD]" Region 2

and

The actual series 3 "Batman: Animated Series 3 [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]" which includes all 29 episodes (from 'Shadow of the Bat' to 'Batgirl Returns'). If you want the third series/volume, make sure that it is this one you purchase. Importantly, this DVD is actually region free despite what the description says and will work on any region 2 player. I can confirm this as I have tested it, it only took a week and a half to get here!

To the actual product itself;

5/5 - Nothing more needs to be said really, this series is fantastic.

Hope this cleared confusion

Iconic I think is the word and, despite the target being children, these are not all tales of good triumphing and everything being happy in the end.

However, this is worth it just fr the two Harley Quin episodes.

Awesome! Love this series. These animations have to be amongst some of the best. For any age; any gender - I am female by the way. Great story telling in just 20 mins. Never get tired of them. Only hate it when the series comes to an end :(

Sadly this is the last run through of Batman: The Animated Series which is a disappointment because I've really enjoyed watching the show ever since I was little! The boxset starts off with the first twenty episodes from the original series before it swapped over and became The Adventures of Batman & Robin for the last ten episodes.
Once again we have a superb cast providing their voices and giving the characters some cool personality and backbone such as Kevin Conroy who as always plays Batman with his gravelly voice and dry wit, Loren Lester as Robin the sidewick, Efrem Zimbalist Jr as Alfred, Batman's sardonic butler, Mark Hamill as the Joker, a deranged madman, etc.
The newest volume in the collection hails the arrival of Batgirl in a 2-part story "Shadow of the Bat" where Two Face gets Commissioner Gordon arrested by starting rumours about Gordon accepting bribes from Rupert Thorne, so Batman & Robin investigate, but when Batman goes undercover to find out the truth he gets captured by Two Face and his thugs.
Well that's all you're getting for now, hope you enjoy the last boxset of this fantastic show!

This third volume of the brilliant 'Batman: The Animated Series' contains a further twenty-nine episodes, including those episodes from after the show got rebranded as 'The Adventures of Batman & Robin'. The episodes in this volume continue to be episodic in nature but they are still very entertaining with some very entertaining moments throughout the volume.

The episodes that bookend the volume are some of my favourites as they both involve one of my favourite characters, Batgirl. The two episode 'Shadow of the Bat' kicks things off very well with Barbra Gordon's first forays into crime fighting as she attempts to find out who framed her father for corruption. The final episode, 'Batgirl Returns' probably isn't quite as good but is still very entertaining, seeing Batgirl and Catwoman team up to discover who stole a jade cat statue. Harley Quinn is also very entertaining whenever she gets an episode that focuses on her with 'Harlequinade' (where Batman needs her help to find the Joker) and 'Harley's Holiday', (where Harley unsuccessfully tries to live a normal life) both being very funny. Other highlights of the volume include 'Trial' that sees Gotham's villains put Batman on trial, is a very entertaining episode with some good interactions between the various villains and 'House & Garden', which involves Poison Ivy apparently giving up crime after she gets married, is very sweet, and a little sad.

This volume also includes the introduction of a number of new villains with Maximillian Zeus, The Ventriloquist and Scarface, Bane, Lock-Up and Baby Doll (who is unique to the animated series). There is also an episode that reveals a little of Alfred's background and a recurring role for Ra's al Ghul.
