We went as a whole family to see this film at the cinema today, and it charmed us all. I can't recommend it enough.

I was a little dissapointed with 'Day of the Diesels' as it was a bit dark and sinister at times. No such problems with this new release. It is a lovely story about a mystery engine called Luke who works in the quarry with other narrow gauge engines, but they keep his existance a secret as he believes he has done something very wrong, and will be sent away from Sodor because of it. It takes Thomas (of course) to sort the problem out, and to out-smart the 'devious' diesels in the process. The film also throws up some interesting background to Victor's past.

My 4 year old son sat through the whole film rivited, even refusing to visit the toilet when he needed to because he didn't want to miss a second of it. It easily one of the best Thomas films, and will we be buying on dvd.

What can I say, this is the best CGI special made. It's a shame that this is Nitrogen Studios last production with Thomas & Friends as the animation is to be moved to Arc Productions, but at least Nitrogen had gone out in style. Annie, Clarabel and Skarloey were in perfect character, the music was amazing, the story was amazing, it was not filled with annoying rhyming and alitteration like S13 - 16. I thought the movie would be poor, but I was wrong. I recommend buying the DVD, it's a great movie.

Liked this one but not so well as the tales of the brave. I felt it was just a vehicle for introducing yet more characters for us to buy. Some of them had a very peripheral part and seemed to have been dragged in on purpose!

I bought this for my nephew and i have to say what an amazing addition to the Thomas family!.The story is great really well thought out with lots happening, without giving too much away there are 4 new additions to Sodor, and it also explains how Victor came to to the island of Sodor. I thought this was alot better than Day of the Diesels which i thought had quite a menacing feel for younger audiences. This is a must for any Thomas fan. I would recommend this 100%. Buy this you will NOT be disappointed!

A fantastic piece of film work!
The film offers humour throughout as well as full steamed jeopardy around every corner! Any Thomas fan will be entertained "from start to very end" and with nail biting drama, 'Blue Mountain Mystery' has revived Thomas from the current television series and has proved HiT's excellence with the return of the narrow gauge engines. A fantastic finale for the end of Nitrogen Studios's involvement with the CGI.
Well worth a purchase for Thomas enthusiasts!

They had borrowed the book from the library a few times so were mesmerised when i sat them down to watch the DVD. Now that have watched it a few times through we often just watch sections of it at bedtime (there are key scenes that they like the best!)

As with the other Thomas DVDs we have, this one is a favourite! Loved by my 4yr old (and his Granny) who sings along to the songs and knows all the different characters - new and old! A great length for younger viewers and a definite buy for any Thomas fans!

My 3 year old son is a Thomas fanatic, and this, for him, was the icing on the cake. The story is nice and simple, but not trivial. It has all the old characters, plus a few new engines. It has good animation, and links to other stroies as well. The 'Bonus' material. for once is good as well. If you have a Thomas lover in the family, then this will keep them happy for some time
