This add-on module is a great idea and opens up the doors to some interesting projects in low light. If your a fan of wildlife this and a Raspberry is the perfect way to capture what's going on in your garden at night! You'll need an Infra Red (IR) lamp to illuminate the area you want to take pictures or record to get a good well lit image. Once setup you can automate the Pi to record based on movement then you can review the images or video at a later date from the SD card. Great fun! I've seen a hedgehog, cats and a fox and it's fun to see what they're up to in the early hours when everyone's asleep. There's lots of information online and other projects you can do especially from the Raspberry Pi foundation if your stuck you can normally find an answer there.

The device itself is nice and small, positioning the camera is a bit awkward due to the ribbon cable and most cases not having an attachment to the hold the camera, there are a few cases with swivel mounts but you'll probably find yourself getting inventive :) When the camera is activated a red LED shines brightly but this can be turned off in the Pi configuration. There are also many other settings especially with other software that allows you to make various changes such as inverting the picture etc. The picture quality is pretty good for a little camera obviously without the IR filter on the lens colours appear different during the day and in the dark when illuminated by IR it's more black and white. Overall great bit of kit, i'll try and dig up some picks to add :)

Product arrived promptly and in appropriate packaging. Great product and seems to work perfectly. My only down side is it would have been nice to have a Quick Start Guide to point you in the direction of how to setup (the assembly guide was very good however).

Bought this for a friend, along with the mount [...] and the battery pack and a wifi usb. Now it can go anywhere and take photos. Didn't buy him the wheels yet, maybe for his birthday ;)

He is a very technical person who will be programming it to do all things, and is very happy with the presents.

After using this with the Pi I would get constant crashing, I thought it my be due to bugs in the os i was using but after many updates it would still crash. After removing this module I never crash any more. I DO NOT recommend that you buy this, unless you want your pi to crash constantly. Very Poor quality item, of which I am very disappointed with.

Works perfectly, but ...it is the most useless thing I have ever bought!
The cable is six inches long, so if you want to use it anywhere you need to have the Pi, PSU,Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, etc. right next to it. a one hour novelty.

This camera is fine as long as you know your way around the raspberry pi motherboard. It does take quite a while to work out where to plug it in but once worked out the camera works fantastically. I think it should come with some level of how to or s more comprehensive instruction book of booklet. Overall I am more than happy with the performance of the camera. I dropped one star because of the complete lack of instructions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gute Bilder, funktioniert gut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cámara NoIR
Reviewed in Spain on 1 January 2015

1.0 out of 5 stars Totaler Müll nach 2 Wochen
Reviewed in Germany on 3 February 2016
