Hell, did I enjoy watching this! James Woods at his best, the biting shark but yet showing his soft side as father of a not so easy to handle teen. Just can't wait for the second season to be released on DVD over here. And I'm quite upset about CBS saying "no" to a third season. If there's a space for a jerk like Dr. House, why can't there be room for a cynic like Sebastian Stark?

.

We're great fans of legal and police-procedural tv series and this is one of the best.

We ended up binge watching as we just couldn't get enough of it. And then, of course, we were upset when we'd finished!!

What a disappointment therefore that we cannot get Season 2 on DVD but only via AmazonPrime (either episodal or the series). We want a DVD so that we can watch on the player in our bedroom (Screen 3!!). I wrote to Fox but haven't had the courtesy of a reply. However, I'll keep checking on this site and each time I do so, my fingers will be firmly crossed.

In the meantime, if you haven't seen this then I absolutely recommend buying and getting stuck into Season 1 - definitely our second favourite legal series after 'Suits' and with LA Law third (or maybe MurderOne!!).

This boxed set offers great value and one of the best legal dramas you are ever likely to see on the small screen. The great James Woods is,of course, the star of the show here and gets the chance to chew the scenery on a regular basis. The script is the one of the real strengths of the show which gives Woods a regular supply of stinging one liners which he delivers with that oh so nasty tongue of his.Forget the silliness of Ali McBeal and the showy court room antics of LA Law - this one goes straight for the jugular from the word go.Each episode is tightly plotted, well scripted and Woods really blows up a storm in the court room scenes which would have had Perry Mason cowering in fright ! The only drawback is the charisma free supporting cast which look like they've just come from a fashion shoot rather than a court room. The real star though here is Woods and he's worth the price of this boxed set alone.
A legal drama to watch over and over again.

I never thought I'd see the day James Woods would grace a TV show. He is without doubt one of the most underrated actors ever. This show is brilliant. His timing exquisite his acting ability is obviously not tested but he still brings class to a TV show. If you haven't seen it rent it then you'll buy it. I would recommend without hesitation.

This first series of Shark is extremely good, sadly series 2 is nowhere near as good so was a huge disappointment - which is why it is not available on DVD.

However this is a review of the excellent series 1, James Woods steals the show and it has strong storylines which are very enjoyable - Jeri Ryan is also great to watch as usual.

I tried to watch this show several years ago & just couldn't get on with it, but time passes, tastes change & having tried it again I must say that on the whole I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, many of the characters are somewhat two- dimensional but James Woods gets to deliver some great lines & his chemistry with boss Jeri Ryan is unmistakeable. Pick of the series are the two Wayne's World episodes starring a mesmeric Billy Campbell as serial killer Wayne Callison. He really does exude a silky menace & his interplay with James Woods is marvellous to behold; the ending of the second episode & season finale is almost literally jaw-dropping, revealing the extent to which Stark will go to obtain his idea of justice.

A second season followed, but there were cast changes, Jeri Ryan was given a different, more involved role which meant that she ended up with some of the dialogue which should really have belonged to James Woods and the writing took a definite turn for the worse. Even the presence of a third Wayne's World episode couldn't save the show & I can understand why season 2 has never had a DVD release.

Having said that, Season 1 is really all you need...enjoy!

Shark is a brilliant and entertaining legal drama which has James Woods in the title role doing what he does best!He starts off life in the lucrative private practice but is lured into the DA'S office where his experience as a defense lawyer and the methods he used to get results turns the DA's office on it's head. Very enjoyable,a must for James Woods fans!

This is a great show! plain and simple. The acting, especially James Woods, is top notch and the plots are varied enough, if not that original, to keep the series afloat. This is the first courtroom drama i have watched and it seems I've been missing out.
My only major complaint has nothing to do with the series itself, but is actually the fact it has been almost a year, if not more, since series 2 was aired and there is still no sine of a DVD, why!? The second series is of a much higher quality than the first, in my opinion, than the first.
There needs to be a petition to FOX.
