A dramatic Gorgy of splatter and horror, this splashy sequel ups the ante with a torture-fest that will delight anyone who likes to be battered by physical violence for the entire runtime of a movie. Low on subtle nuance obviously but rates highly in the constant screaming peril, sadism and prolonged and sustained torture of the innocent stakes. With no artistic merit to speak of, The Collection is just what a horror freak requires, a conveyer belt of imaginative nastiness, perpetrated by a kind of Jigsaw hopped up on goofballs. I loved this, it's vile, depraved and will offend right thinking people everywhere and do you know what? They kind of deserve it!

Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick ) is the daughter of a wealthy man. When she is taken captive by the Collector (Randall Archer) at a rave, her father (Christopher McDonald) hires a SWAT team to go get her. They employ the services of the reluctant Arkin (Josh Stewart)the only man who has ever escaped from him.

The Collector's warehouse is filled with booby traps. Plenty of blood and body parts. Light on "one on one" torture, relatively speaking. This movie simply goes through the motions. Let's put more killings in the feature and neglect a decent plot and characters. This is bordering on gore for sake of gore. If you are a big fan of "The Collector" and have been able to watch all "The Saw" movies without getting bored, you know you will watch this one too.

For me, one gadget killing after another is getting tiresome. Can we have a pause for drama and plot?

Parental Guide: F-bombs, brief nudity, no sex.

Great sequel and excellent soundtrack the beginning really sets the scene as this film is a survival horror and where the first film dealt with a home invasion and the maniac turning the home owners house against them this is about the victims fighting back in epic slo-mo fashion with an industrial rock soundtrack surrounding it. I was impressed by this sequel, the villain is still a mystery but it was nice to see the thief from the first movie coming back to lead the attack even though he is not keen on doing so. i have seen this film about 4 times now as there are not many of the same genre that i do like or that are very good but this was really well done, great ending to.

The Collection is the goriest horror-thriller I have seen by a long shot! and I can't help but love it for that! Its horrifyingly gruesome, but keeps you hooked with morbid curiosity. Probably the best slasher film I've seen in a very long time.

The amount of people killed in this film is just crazy. The direction, music and gore make this a genuinely terrifying horror film.

I'd recommend this to ALL horror fans - it's a must see! - especially if you're a sucker for the Saw franchise like me.

I thought this film was fantastic.
I've been watching Criminal Minds (I had no idea who played Arkin when I started the film but the irony is not lost on me) and was greatly impressed with the realistic killer. While Jason and Freddie are obviously great and scary, like with the Saw films, this is a killer that could really exist. He's extremely organised, but not infallible or invincible and there's method to his homicidal madness.
I just wish I'd known it was a sequel before I watched it, not that it really affects the story, but I wouldn't like to watch them in order.

Well now. Where to start?
The 1st film is the place, The Collector, that saw erstwhile burglar Arkin trying to escape death at the hands of the "alternative" Jigsaw....a psycopathic and inventive, sadistic torturer and killer.
He thought he had escaped but then a final twist in that film led well to his reintroduction in to the plot of this film. Trapped in a wooden crate.
Gore and sustained threat features large. Very large in fact.
As horror films go, this is very good.

This is a sequel to the 2009 film the collector, but it doesn't matter if you have not seen the first one as it opens very smoothly and openly. This film is very slick, you can tell its budget has doubled from that on the collector, the effects and kills are great but I won't spoil it. I would say this one is slightly bettervthan the first one but they are both completely different- it's like the Alien franchise, this is like aliens- much more action oriented and in a larger area ( the collectors lair) great watch

This was bought for my sister who already had the 1st film the collector, she told me this is quite good however she prefers the first film and overall the timing of this film is much shorter than the previous film. It has the same theme as the collector and it is quite gruesome.
