My 5 year old son has been obsessed with these toys since they were called 'Bionicle'! Now it's 'Hero Factory' and he loves it to bits. The film itself is certainly not aimed at grown-ups. When it's on, I feel some sympathy for my parents when I was watching 'Transformers' as a child! But my son loves the movie, and that's all that counts. If your kids enjoyed the bionicle franchise, they'll love this too!

Great DVD for the little Lego lover in your life but the DVD running time is quite short when you think that my little man had been wanting and waiting to get it for weeks! I feel that if we honour the love of Lego, we should get quality and quantity in return. But my son loved what he got.

Hero Factory: Rise of the Rookies is a splendid first chapter in the Hero Factory saga. The characters have a degree of depth, the villains are entertaining, the set pieces are truly spectacular (The drone in New Stellac City, the Ambush in Mekron City, the attack on Lemus 2 and the assault on the Tantalus 5 prison site are worthy of a normal movie) and the whole cast is voiced superbly (even though Mark Hamill's turn as Von Nebula and his later one at Black Phantom does sound rather like his rendition of the Joker. Amazing when you remember what he looks like. How can he have a voice like that?). Can't wait for when the other episodes are available on DVD in the UK. I am a LEGO fan and have almost all their CGI features, but this one is truly exceptional.

I didn't enjoy this but my 5 year old grandson thinks it is great. The characters are easily identifiable and the animation is great. It is very like the movements made by the Lego figures in the computer games. Would recommend to anyone with little boys to entertain.

For my Lego loving son this DVD was exactly what he wanted. He loved it, and apparently a few little mini movies on it which held his interest :)

My son is about to turn 4 and loves this DVD. Not having come across these characters before I'd assumed it was a film for 88 minutes (like some of the other Lego DVDs are) but I was mistaken and this was a series of episodes. It didn't matter, I only mention it in case other parents in a similar position. Great action series for a boy who loves Transformers. I didn't mind watching it through with him a few times until he became familiar with the characters. A good purchase.
