I didn't expect much from this film, and I only really bought it on a whim. It was cheap and it was something I hadn't heard of. Admittedly there isn't much of a plot line, but for me that didn't bother me as I found the character developments interesting. It might not be for everyone, and I may be in the minority, but I don't think that this film is actually that bad.

this is one them films,
they put hilary duff all over the cover so you think its one of her film where she sings you know the sort,
but she is not in film that much and nothing like one of her films,
its a odd film but not to bad to watch,

This is a light comedy. Henry McCarthy (Mark Polish) is an author of some renown. He has written a fictional book about his High School years, although in reality it is about his own experiences with some name changes. There is a bunch of first person narration in the film which are actual readings from the book. The names of the characters he reads don't match up with those they refer to making it slightly confusing at first until you realize Lauren is Scarlet.

Henry comes back in town and lives at home with his parents and borrows their car. He is at his old High School to connect with the current senior class so he can be the commencement speaker at graduation. During this time his whole teenage angst returns as he tries to connect with Scarlet. Scarlet is a pharmacist played by Winona Ryder, which is humorous on a different level. Her ex-bf Brad is the gym teacher. He and Henry get into it and are sent to the principle's office, who is played by Chevy Chase. In order to make things more difficult, bombshell student Hilary Duff throws herself at him. Toward the end of the film, some people from his high school finally read his book and realize they are in it. The book Henry wrote was about how Lionel (Ritchie) got him laid, although it was a Kenny Loggins song that inspires him at the end of the film.

Sean Astin was perhaps the bright spot, playing a gay. Except for him, much of the acting was flat. Mark Polish, who wrote the script was dull as the lead. The movie attempted to create those wonderful indie characters, but failed primarily due to the lack of good memorable lines and Polish's flat performance. I could picture Adam Sandler playing that part.

The movie is clever in that it is able to recreate the entire high school scene for Harry as an adult.

I thought this film was going to be really good as every hilary duff film i've seen has been good, so i bought this film due to her being in it. Due to her been on the front cover i thought she was going to have a massive part in the film, but the film isn't really about her and the part she does play just didn't seem the usual, i found this film a bit slow and not the best hilary duff has been in. The story line is different to other films which is good, but i wouldnt really want to see this film more than once.

Film was ok. The cover gives the impression that Hillary Duff is the main star whereas she really only has a supporting role and is mainly about a man who comes back to his home town to give a speech at his old school and the adventures he has along the way. Its worth a watch nonetheless.

This blu ray does only contain the film no extras etc... but the sound and picture look fantastic!!

i bought this as a massive Hilary Duff fan i knew she wasn't in it much as i have the dvd to.

It's about a man who goes back to his home town and ends up seeing his old school friends around town etc and his crush from high school is still there and so begins the story Hilary plays the bomb shell who likes older men :) #

Great blu ray version of this movie

Stay Cool feels rushed with a lack of emotional logic, humor or charm. A very talented cast of actors which is the fatal louring reason why buyers may purchase this film. Save your money and watch it online if you really want to watch it.
