The film itself doesn't, but WE viewers of it all deserve five gold Amazon stars and a bottle of champagne for enduring this torture all the way to the end; like running a marathon and finishing, despite the agony.

The acting in it was about as useless as a chocolate teapot or a glass hammer, the scares were non-existent (why an 18 rating?) and I felt so sorry for the rat in this film. It not only had to sit and watch the cheesy awful acting of the four people, the poor thing, it'll need counselling after this too. I was most impressed by this rat's very realistic and professional acting as it deserves an Oscar award, it was that great - compared to the acting ability of the humans, which wasn't.

I expected frights galore, atmospheric effects by the bucket load and superb acting. It wasn't in this film unfortunately, and even those who starred in it were looking at the walls a lot up the corridors, excited by the paint drying... A creepy film it is not. However, it's a great comedy! I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Acting was terrible. Script was terrible. Storyline was terrible. Just...really bad, I don't know how much more I can elaborate, please don't bother watching it unless you're looking for something completely laughable.

Well,Iam really struggling to find the words to describe this film---perhaps what a'load of rubbish' is the quickest way to say it ANDWHY OH WHY OH WHY OH WHY,was this EVER given an 18 rating? You must be joking!!!!!The setting for the film could be quite interesting, and thats where ANY interest stops-dead.The acting[and i use the term very loosely]is dreadful--i am very sorry to say so BUT i would rather watch paint dry-seriously.Dont bother to even buy this 'used'.as i did,it is awful.SAVE YOUR PENNIES!!!!.And dont be fooled by the cover-i never saw anything like it at all--unless,of course,it was during one of my moments of boredom and it didnt register!

Ho hum, even the title smacks of a straight-to-DVD offering destined for Channel 5 anonymity. I knew in advance i'd be in for some low budget cheesiness but hope springs eternal. Maybe this may have been that elusive gem that slips under the radar - "what you haven't heard of Seance: the Summoning before? It's got cult classic written all over it".

Unfortunately, it was none of these things. Well, except for the low budget element; that was present in great amounts.

Now, the main sell for me in the synopsis was the release of a blood-thirsty demon via a seance gone wrong. I rationalised that, hey, it may be naff but there's bound to be some gleeful stalk and slash by said demon. No, what you get is a demon in human form so it ends up as a very bad Exorcist rip-off. C'mon I was looking forward to some rubber-suited shenanigans.

The acting, boy, the acting is something else. Wooden doesn't quite do justice to it. I felt the cast were far too concerned with actually remembering their lines to worry about emotion.

Plus the cast is so small that it didn't even leave any scope for a satsfying blood-fest a la Friday 13th. Instead it opted for the psychological horror hoping to get under your skin but failing miserably.

Honestly, I could go on about Seance's bad points but they're legion. Suffice it to say I have nothing good to say about this film. Avoid like the plague. Or like a seance, for that matter.

Worth a watch on Prime Instant Video on a rainy weekend, but I'd be incredibly annoyed if I'd bought it.

The themes of the film are badly presented, don't expect any accuracy. The acting is pretty standard budget horror terrible. Although the characters are so two dimensional and unlikable I doubt good actors could have improved things much.

I did watch all the way through and it's one of those films where not so good actors getting into the subject matter works better than good actors bored with a bad film.

starts off OK but descends into right wing fundamentalist Christian propaganda rubbish with some serious anti women pro-life messages- don't bother unless you share those views

Bad acting and bad storyline. The christian angle was terrible, over the top and in your face, not to mention the "you will burn in hell and jesus can't hear you blah" thing with the blonde one. Would like to erase this one from my memory please.
