Retired docker Don and his wife live within their means but property developer son David lives the high life. But it's financed by credit and his world crashes. David and family move in with Don and he persuades him to mortgage his house to finance a 'sound' investment.
I brought this because we are big David Jason Fans in our family so was hoping it would be a good watch. I rated it 4 stars because although it was good and we all enjoyed it the ending was disappointing. The story line is good all the way through though and it was gripping but one less star for the ending.
this is absolutely brilliant, saw this on tv over christmas, it was so good i just had to see it again, david jason is great in it the most sweetest kindest grandad, looking out for his family, reminded me of my lovely dad who i lost last year, i never ever buy dvd's, only shoes but just had to purchase this, really good story, and well worth the money i paid for it
Best family film ive seen in years superb acting from all the cast reminded me of my late husband we had been together 58 happy years we had 3 children who miss the best dad any one could wish for. M. Boswell.
A nice gentle film about the father who has always lived his life simply. He and his wife are happy not to follow the latest trends, unlike their son. I liked how this film unfolds to show you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, as I had done with one of the characters early on in the film. I only gave it four stars as I was a tiny bit upset at how the film end. It does make sense, it is probably just me wanting the film to carry on.
Another winner from Sir David cannot get enough of Old Fools and Horses..Bury your hatchet with the BBC and give us more..As you are prehaps the best all round actor today and whatever you touch turns to Gold
