Product description

Compact with welding soldering iron tip and racks with tips, cleaning. Includes calibration mode, mode function, password pre-configuration. Reliable digital technology from Hakko. The Hakko FX 888D soldering station regulates the temperature with an accuracy of +/-1 K (in standby). Use the tips of the T18 series, due to the excellent thermal conductivity, they solder at lower temperatures. Thus the thermal component charge is reduced, and oxidation in the tip. The time to achieve the selected temperature of 350 °C is 20 seconds faster and reduces the temperature in the soldering tip, even in continuous work, it is residue. Exact temperature control. Digital display of the FX 888D station allows the easy verification of the selected temperature at a glance. Password function – Pre-set Settings can be protected by a password to avoid unwanted changes. Pre-set mode is a possibility. Simply select the pre-set temperature, 5 predetermined adjustments can be made. Saves effort and improves working conditions.

    There is no warranty with this so I don't advise buying from here. Hakko have only just allowed this so I expect I won't be the last.
    If I had done this I'd be covered by warranty and wouldn't have to spend £30 on a new heating element and £11 on a cheap soldering iron to solder new heating element. Yes that's right you need a soldering iron to fix this soldering iron!

    AVOID! USE A REPUTABLE UK SUPPLIER!

    Chosen as a Japanese company, very surprised by the made in Malaysia sticker underneath the base. Makes soldering a breeze and gets a to temperature very quickly. The ceramic element is very efficient and holds the temperature well even on larger objects with high heat sink potential.
    Marked down one star the power AC cable is incredibly stiff, cheap Chinese plastic that spoils the overall experience when it arrives holding memory and kinks. Still evident after using a hot air gun to straighten it. By comparison the cable to the soldering iron hand piece is very high quality silicone and heat resistant to accidental tip touches.
