This is my 4th Petsafe pet door simply because my JRT flies though it in Superman style - crash! every time. They last about 30 months of that on average.

More work though with the first one as the door panel itself has to be cut.

No complaints at all about the product.

Having had one of these in my double glazed back door for over three years, it was looking a lot battle scarred. I have three cats and a small dog, so it was in constant use. It had lost the locking devices and part of the extension tunnel. I finally decided to replace it when the draught was getting a bit much. In fact I bought two, one as a spare.

Overall it does the job. Yes I do think it's a bit flimsy and I would have preferred the locks to be white and a bit more substantial. But my oldest cat, a 13 year old huge black and white male job busts through any cat flap whether locked or not. I haven't found a cat flap he can't get in yet, on several occasions taking the flap housing with him around his middle! So locking it isn't really a problem, (or option) for us. With a lot of other models the door has gone missing on a few times as well, but I've never lost this one and the housing hasn't come off!

I've looked at the alternatives for double glazed units and, unless you want to spend an obscene amount of money, can't find anything better. It's been fitted for about a month now and is still intact. A bit stiffer in opening than the old one but that will ease with time, (it won't have a choice!).

Is there a perfect cat flap in existence? Answers on a postcard.................

Now that this cat flap has been installed and is up and running, I am very pleased with it. I needed a larger cat flap as two of my cats are big, plus I wanted it installed into a double glazed door. Therefore, after much searching online, this was the only one that fitted all my requirements. When I finally had the new double glazing unit fitted with the appropriate hole cut into it (very expensive in itself), I thought it would be simple to fit the cat flap. However, it took the window fitter over two hours (with me helping too) to get the job done. It was VERY awkward to do and in the end he resorted to using clear silicon to "glue" the cat flap components together so that the screws could be aligned and tightened (be aware that the screws will also need to be sawn down or buy shorter ones so that the screw caps can be fitted). All that said however, once it was all done, the cat flap works fine and isn't too intrusive. My big cats are in and out it with ease. I would recommend though, if you have an alternative place to fit it (which I didn't) a solid wooden door or even through the wall would be a much cheaper option, then you could look at other cat flap brands. One last tip if you do decide on this cat flap, the magnet that keep in closed and minimise drafts is very strong, so quite a lot of force if needed to open in. My cats just did not get the hang of it at all, even after keeping it taped open for a couple of days. I popped the metal off the bottom of the cat flap frame with a screwdriver (very easy) so effectively the magnet had nothing to stick to. The flap then swung freely without any force needed. The cats took to it instantly. Now it has been a couple of weeks with them bolting through it head first, I'm going to pop the metal back on and think they'll be ok using it. I hope so as it's too draughty without it. That's the end of the longest review I've ever written. I don't want anyone buying this to have fitted into a double glazed door thinking it will be straight forward, as it won't be, but once it's done it's great. It would have been far more straightforward if my two male cat's hadn't grown so big as they'd be more choice on the market with regular sized cat flaps.

Installed the catflap, all good, Locks work well, cut the middle section to size unfortunately it's freezing in my living room now as the the flap does swing shut....!!! Not happy I've no idea how to contact the seller either. On a plus note it's a get size
