Superb phone -- WAY better than my old iPhone

I ordered the Nexus 4 as I was out of contract, had no desire to enter into an exorbitant 24 month tie-in to an Irish mobile operator, and was looking for a high spec handset that would keep me connected to my online business and social accounts.

The Nexus 4 looked like the best value option -- and it doesn't disappoint. It's a phenomenal smartphone.

The screen is superb, and the phone looks and feels great. It's fast too... and the latest Android direct from Google is buttery smooth, with no manufacturer bloat-ware to weigh it down. The transition from the tired "same old" interface of iOS to Android was like a breath of fresh air. I love it!

I was looking at the Galaxy S3 too -- but I've compared it with a friends side by side and for me the Nexus 4 is a much better phone in terms of the user experience.

Disappointments? None really -- there's no 4G, but then I knew that when I bought it, and it's hardly likely to be an issue here in Ireland (where there are still huge holes in the 3G network) during the life of the phone.

This is a top notch phone that definitely has the WOW factor... and at the price it's a no brainer.

It is a phone that has everything I want. It feel solid in my hand, even though it is not incredible lightweight but still doesn't feel bulky at all. I have average sized hand and I still manage to use it with one hand most of the time. The rear design of this phone is so unique and make it stands out from crowd. The phone is so fast and very responsive, everything shows up almost instantly when I click on it. The vibration of it is worth mention, I can really feel it in my pocket when it's vibrating, which I couldn't feel when I had the last phone.
I bought a bumper case for this phone because I heard that this phone cracks easily when you drop it. The case make it feel bigger but better than breaking the phone. The camera is not the best in the market but I don't use my phone to take pictures so it's fine for me.
Overall, This is a great phone and I'm gonna keep using it for as long as I can.

Wifi didn't work - Returned

Detected home Wifi with excellent signal, logged in fine, worked for a few seconds then failed to work, although still connected.
Spend several hours looking at forums trying to understand the problem. It seems to be known by Google for months but on a low priority fix.
So cost me best part of a day looking at the problem, then 2 hours sorting out the return and 4 or 5 quid additional postage cost. For a known bug.
Unimpressed.

I had the nexus 4 a week an it took one small drop off the counter at work which broke the screen! LG arent the best to deal with either resulting in pretty much having no warranty if the screen cracks! the back of phone is also very fragile thats also starting to crack?? the reason id give it 5 stars is because the nexus 4 itself is quite powerful probably one of the best phones you can buy just very fragile, the only thing i recommend is have a case when you get your nexus it would of avoided my problem of having a broken one a week later!

Bought for my wife, who is going on for 70. New technology is not the easiest of subjects for the older generation, but this was an upgrade from a non-smartphone. There seem so many new things to learn about with a smartphone, but she persevered and, with lots of help from family and friends, she wouldn't be without her Nexus now. We had previously tried two Samsungs, but didn't like the interface imposed over Google's Android operating system. Being a Google-promoted phone, the Nexus has a pure version of Android and receives updates quicker than the others. A worthy buy at a good price.

Super fast, I stoped using my Ipad this is so fast I love it. camera is good too, GPS comes up almost instantly which is essential for me.

After 8 months I put it in my pocket without any pouch! It slipped out on the tiled floor in the kitchen and ... Screen cracked all the way, could not even get back into the phone as digits where not responding. VERY FRAGILE SCREEN. BE AWARE AND USE PROTECTION. It is made of glass. I bought new LCD and digitizer for 100 fitted it following youtube video and it's back in action.

The phone was faulty a quarter of the touch screen was dead and so the product had to be returned as they didn't have a replacement in stock. Return process worked well but it was annoying that had wasted time.
