I bought these because I read about L-Theanine in the nootropics thread on Reddit. Combining 200mg of L-Theanine with 100mg of caffeine is shown to help people concentrate. You can read up on it there and find studies done on this. It is also meant to relieve anxiety.

Now it is difficult to say if it works because obviously the effect would be subtle but I have sometimes tried the combo when I am tired and irritable and have then felt calm. It could be a coincidence or a placebo effect but I have noticed it. Other times when I was already feeling calm or normal I haven't noticed a particular effect but again it's a subtle thing. So overall I am happy with it and would order again.

Also it smells sweet and yummy. Even my cat came up to me and kept sniffing it out of curiosity. This makes it pleasant to take.

The product is like described and came next day with Prime. I started taking a pill per day but felt nausea and after googling, I learnt that because it's quite a big amount (much more than what you find in tea for example) some people may experience nausea taking a big quantity. So, I started taking 1/4 of a pill and am gradually making my way up to a whole pill. Still not there so not sure if it's making any difference yet.

Chances are that if you're looking at this product then you already know the beneficial properties of L-Theanine.

I've used this brand a couple of times before with no issues, I normally take 1 capsule with a cup of black coffee when intermittent fasting in the morning. This really helps stave off the jitters that you often get with lots of caffeine, and instead you just feel relaxed but highly focused.
Its great for productivity and well tolerated in the body with no side effects that I've come across.

In reality any quality brand will be much the same, but this ones good on price, available on prime and does exactly what it's supposed to.

I bought this hoping it would help me sleep. I think it had some effect (getting to sleep may have been easier) but it was not right for me.

Firstly, when I took it I think it gave me vivid/unpleasant dreams. This may be something to do with increasing the amount of REM sleep (I don't really understand these things); however, this might be beneficial to others. Secondly, I think it has a diuretic effect because when I took it I had to get up in the night. So, on the whole for me the negative effects outweighed the positive effects.

I have not tried other brands so can't say if any of this is true for any other L-Theanine supplier. If you feel inclined to try this don't be put off by my experiences - we are all different and others seem to do well with this stuff.

Excellent product. As I write this, it is the cheapest on Amazon, (do the math yourself) but works perfectly. Calming, improves attention and concentration, reduces anxiety and promotes learning. Goes well with a cup of coffee. Great for anxious students or stressed computer types. Per a Japanese study, it also lowers blood pressure -- so if you have chronic low blood pressure be aware of that -- might not be for you. For the rest of us (most?) with high blood pressure, this is the ticket. Be calm, be smart, be aware. Part of what this world needs. Recommended.

Not sure, I think taken regularly they have a benefit. Anyone advising taking this with caffeine as a cognitive enhancer, rubbish. There are probably 30 alternatives out there for that. This is more of a long term supplement, potentially helping to reduce stress and a good supplement to help adrenal glands that can become exhausted with prolonged stress.
