An Ideal Choice for Value Conscious System Builders and Upgraders

CX Series power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades. CX Series PSUs are available in a variety of power configurations, and include features that are normally found only on premium power supplies.

Low Noise

80 PLUS Bronze efficiency and clever fan design allow for little or no detectable fan noise during regular operation.

Features

Large-Diameter, Thermally Controlled Fan

Once you’ve installed a PSU, you shouldn’t have to think about it. Employing a thermally controlled fan makes the CX Series virtually silent at idle, and the large diameter reduces noise even when you’re pushing your system hard.

Reliable and Compatible

CX Series is built and tested to strict standards for trouble-free installation and smooth operation.

Corsair Engineering and Quality Control

Every Corsair power supply is designed by our California engineering team and built to our exact specifications. The same care that goes into the design and testing of our renowned high-power enthusiast power supplies also goes into the CX Series, because you need confidence and reliability.

Black Goes with Everything

You’re building a PC, not a battleship, and appearance counts. The matte black finish and all-black sleeved cables and connectors help give your system a high-tech, restrained look.

Good Looks

The matte black finish, black-sleeved cables and black connectors help give your system a restrained, high-tech look.

Ample Connectors and Long Cables

Long cables make CX Series suitable for installation even in full-height tower cases, and the generous cable count allows you to power multiple components and storage devices.

Extremely Good
Ill dive straight in Pros It is very quiet and as your playing doing tasks or whatever on your computer you are not going to hear it. All cables needed are included as well as some removable ones, in case you don't need them. The cables are sheathed to stop them from being damaged Supports bottom mounted and top mounted PSU installation There are stickers on either side of the box so that you can read the model number and name either way if it's installed up or down in the case. It remains cool and will supply easily enough energy for your graphics card Cons one problem, mine didn't come with a sticker but that is the least of my worries; overall the quality is extremely good and this PSU performs excellently. Well worth the money Note I had a cheap PSU 500w that kept surging the motherboard, luckily it din't damage any components. That is why i purchased a new PSU

pretty much a no brainer, since you get enough wattage for the vast majority of builds, modular cables and a nice quiet fan!

the braiding of the cables is pretty good, nothing amazing but it definitely improves the looks of a neat build over crappy unbraided technicolour PSU cables.
The modularity is awesome, and is so handy. it isn't fully modular but it doesn't really need to be, since the connectors it has fixed are 100% necessary for any build anyway.
The unit itself is only 160mm long, so it fits fine in any case that supports ATX power supplies. the thing itself feels of good quality and looks of good quality
I was skeptical of the fan inside the unit since it isn't one of corsair's but a cheap chinese OEM, however it is perfectly quiet and I really don't ever hear it at all over the sound of my graphics card/case fans.

If you can afford it, then definitely get something even more efficient, but for this price range this unit is pretty much perfect

Before I'd built my first PC, a friend had recommended I get a modular PSU to help me with my cable management. I (at the time) was skeptical about paying the extra money for it, thinking I could get by fine with the normal cable bundle I'm used to.

However when it came to building, I had the money to spend (only about £10-20 difference I believe) so I took the plunge. And indeed that was the right choice. Corsair are a very good brand for PSUs - their reputation across the web seems to be highly positive - and are worth spending more to get one instead of a cheap no brand one. The PSU is a crucial part of your PC, and you don't want to risk frying your components with a dodgy one.

This PSU came with an abundance of cable connectors, with lots of SATA, PCI-E and Molex connectors to choose from. I used the three Molex connectors for my case fans, two PCI-E connectors for my graphics card, and three SATA connectors for my drives - and I still had spare cables for all of them! Brilliant for future expansion. The cables are of a high quality, and have plenty of length for most cases. My mid tower had no issues whatsoever.

I honestly cannot fault it after a week of use. It runs fairly cool, very quietly, and provides reliable efficient power to all my components. I'd really recommend this for someone looking for a reliable PSU either for a new build, or to replace a broken one.

My PC was a home build bare bones Core i3 2nd generation, with an Asus motherboard. I do not put it to very demanding tasks, but had some very annoying issues. The first being the refusal of Media player to play videos properly, but some would play normally. The second issue is that the PC would boot normally on about half the occasions it started it up, but on other occasions it would show the BIOS screen, giving a message that a new CPU had been installed. This was not the case, it had just lost all the BIOS settings. This became annoying very quickly. I changed the battery, upgraded the BIOS and tested the PSU and tried the video card in another PC, but nothing fixed this issue. I was googling the issues one day, to try and find a cause and I saw a recommendation go check the Asus power draw website, based on the components. I did this and it came out at 650 watt, which was a bit of a shock, as I had a 550watt Corsair. I decided to gamble on a more powerful PSU and opted for this one. The existing Corsair was given to me and the most I had for a previous PSU was under £30, of paying two and a half times as much was a bit of a gamble. The PSU arrived quickly, had loads of connectors and appears to be of good quality. I fitted it and I am very pleased to say that I have a BIOS that no longer forgets and all videos now open! I did not realise that such a difference would be made. Also, my PC now feels noticeably faster and a good bit more responsive - not sure a PSU can do that, but if a PSU cannot make that difference, then it is just a coincidence. I am delighted with the results and I do not begrudge paying a good bit more than I would do normally for this very good PSU. Very highly recommended, as a bonus. it is not too noisey either.

I have had this for over a week now in my custom built PC.

I choose to purchase this model because it was a good price for a modular PSU, and Corsair is a very good name in this industry, as well as being a recommendation from a family member. I have split my reviews up into the PROs and CONs.

    PROS:

    1. It is extremely quiet, I have it facing down onto my desk and I can't hear the fan at all. I only have a 200w (ish) system so it shouldn't be spinning too fast anyway. In fact my Cooler Master Sickle Flow fans are louder, and I class them as quiet.
    2. It does what a power supply has got to do, supply power and not blow up. I can't yet comment on reliability because I haven't had it long enough, but my brother has had one for nearly 2 years and his is working just like new.
    3. It comes with enough cables than an office/mid range computer will need.
    4. The Modular design means that the mother bored and CPU cables are already installed, and SATA and PCI/E cables can be plugged in as you need them.

    CONS:

    1. The cables that are used to power my SATA drives are daisy chains. There are 3 connectors on one cable, the only problem that I had is that the gaps between them are too short, and the overall length of the cable is too short. But this does depend on the size and design of your case.
    2. If you have an 2.5 inch drive installed on the bottom of a computer case, it can be difficult to install the power supply connector, I had to use one of the middle connectors and bend the wires round. This worries me because it could come loose in the future and break.

Overall, I think the CONS are not a problem if you have one drive so I would recommend this to home users. I do update my reviews in the future.

The Power Supply Runs smooth very low noise, I am running a MB ASRock 990FX with CPU AMD FX- 9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7 GHz, GPU NVidia Quadro K620 384 CUDA, CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB x 4 DDR3 SDRAM, Kingston SSDNow V300 120 GB for OS Win 10 64 bit Professional, HDD Seagate ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM, HDD Seagate ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM with Liquid Cooling with CORSAIR H100 iV2 (Not very silent but low noise) all in CORSAIR Carbide Series 500R Mid Tower and the system works like a song. I have additional power for another gaming GPU with overclocking.

A Very Good Power Supply definitely a worthy option, unless it has issues in future, I have been using this for almost two months with the system running a good 18 hours every single day.

This PSU compromises very little in terms of power deliverance.(Not Modular or even semi modular) on the other hand Its Leaps and Bounds ahead of ANY cheap and low quality PSU on the market which are a total waste of Time and Money ....NOTE that the pins on the power plug are not supported by Indian Wall outlets you need A spike buster. Whisper Quiet. NO STATIC WHATSOEVER while installing it. Perfect for a budget or slightly high end gaming build. Super Reliable. Lots Of cables provided. Been using for a Month without any problems.

I don't know about expert pc builders, but people building their first PCs cannot go wrong with this unit.

The build quality of the metal casing is good and the cable quality is acceptable (though not amazing). This is fine because these units are intended to be plugged once and left alone for a long time. Frequent plugging/ unplugging may wear out the cable connector plastic.

This also works well with my UPS: APC BX600CI-IN, which is an important consideration since some PSUs won't gel with some UPSs.
