Collection of animations following the caped crusader. In 'Mystery of the Batwoman' (2003) Batman (voice of Kevin Conroy) is on the attack, targeting his arch enemy, the Penguin (David Ogden Stiers), and his criminal cohort, Rupert Thorn (John Vernon), who are plotting a scheme to sell illegal weapons. New vigilante in town Batwoman (Kyra Sedgwick) has more daring methods for saving the day, which may only create more problems for Batman. In 'Mask of the Phantasm' (1993) an unknown assailant is ridding Gotham City of its gangsters but Batman finds himself blamed for their homicidal ways. Meanwhile, his nemesis, the Joker (Mark Hamill), is keen to bring the mysterious figure down and Batman's former flame, Andrea Beaumont (Dana Delany), arrives in town. In 'Under the Red Hood' (2010) a masked figure, known only as Red Hood (Jensen Ackles), has taken it upon himself to clean up Gotham City but his methods are brutal. Batman (Bruce Greenwood) soon realises he may know Red Hood's real identity and when the Joker (John Di Maggio) gets involved the situation becomes even more complicated. 'Gotham Knight' (2008), set between 'Batman Begins' (2005) and 'The Dark Knight' (2008), comprises six chronological stories charting Batman (Conroy)'s progression from gifted amateur to fully-fledged crime-avenger. 'Have I Got a Story for You' tells how a group of kids are variously affected by their encounters with Batman. In 'Crossfire', Gotham City's police force are forced to conquer their distrust of the Dark Knight when they come under fire from the mob. 'Field Test' focuses on the vast array of weaponry and gadgets at Batman's disposal as he fights injustice, while 'In Darkness Dwells' has the caped-crusader locking horns with the sewer-dwelling 'Killer Croc' and 'The Scarecrow' (Corey Burton). 'Working Through Pain' explores Bruce Wayne's gruelling training regime, instigated by a mysterious Indian woman named Cassandra (Parminder Nagra), while the final segment, 'Deadshot', draws the chapters to a conclusion, with Batman having to stop a ruthlessly efficient assassin with few moral qualms. In 'Year One' (2011) Batman (Benjamin McKenzie) returns to Gotham City after spending years away training on foreign territory. Meanwhile, honest policeman Jim Gordon (Bryan Cranston) has arrived in town after being transferred from Chicago. He is sent to track Batman down but with their shared interest in ridding Gotham of its corrupt cops and criminals, the two form an unlikely alliance.

As a relative new Bat-fan (joining in at Batman Begins), I've been looking for Batman comics and films where ever I find them. And after I saw "Under The Hood" I understood that the animated films was a must see. So when I found out this box existed I threw my self over it, and loved every minute!

Year One and Under the Hood is amazing! And the Mask of the Phantasm is a classic that actually lives up to the hype. Mystery of the Batwoman is the weakest, but it's still good. And Gotham Knight is the one I haven't seen yet, but it looks cool!

If you like Batman and want more of him this is perfect! The films are true Batman, as he always was to be shown!

Five maturely themed animated movies not just for fans but anyone interested in good drama.
As others have said, Mystery of the Batwoman is a bit of a dud, which is all the more apparent when compared to the other four.
My advice when watching these is to watch them in reverse order. Start with Year One, based on the classic graphic novel. Bruce Wayne's first year as Batman after 12 years abroad. Will, he make it? Gordon's story runs in parallel and is just as interesting.
Gotham Knight is Batman as a newbie learning the ropes. The six short stories (interlinked) are done in different animation styles, and all the more fun for it. None of the styles is better or worse than any other, just enjoy the ride.
Under the Red Hood is not the origin story of a certain Batman baddie, but a much more complex story involving someone much closer to Batman! I think this is my second favourite of the five. Also, listen to the sound track, both exciting and moody - nobody skimped when making this.
Mask of the Phantasm is my favourite, and probably the oldest of the 5 films. There's a mystery and a dilemma for Batman and a decision for Bruce Wayne to make, all interfered with nicely by the Joker (Mark Hamil). Again, listen to the music, very dramatic, with synthesiser played by a young Hans Zimmer, later to provide the music for all Chris Nolan's Dark Knight films).
All together excellent value for money.

A brilliant collection of some of the best animated movies dealing with Batman, THE DARK KNIGHT. While it's true that I had seen both the 'Phantasm', 'Batwoman' , and the 'Red Hood' movies previously, it helped to find all of them in such an economical package, combined with the 'Year One' (hardly, it was just a frame-by-frame compilation of the Frank Miller classic) and the beautifully atmospheric 'Gotham Knight'. Loved them all, loved especially the package deal.

I was suprised to see this collection of animated films for that price. Under the Red Hood and Year One are around £7 alone so was very happy with this set. Its a must for any Dark Knight fan. Under the Red Hood is still my favourite animated movie but thats not to say the others in this set aren't good. This set and The Dark Knight Returns (Part 1 and 2) is the perfect Batman animated collection.

5 Batman animations in one box set for very little money. The "Under the red hood" is definitely the best one in my opinion, but Year one and Gotham Knight are very close behind it.

Mystery of the Batwoman and mask of the Phantasm are the only animations from the 90's in the set, so in those the picture quality is not quite that of Under the red hood, but they are still very watchable as well.

However under the red hood and year one were the only 2 that I thought was worth buying
They were really good!
Mystery of the batwoman and mask of the phantasm were decent but felt like longer episodes of TAS...
Gotham knight was one of the main reasons I got this set, but ended up the most disappointing.
I disliked all the art styles for that disc, which lead to me fast forwarding most of it.

To sum it up, this is good value for money
But you could get the best 2 films for less,
And avoid Gotham knight
